Like Bergevin said saturday morning, "you have guys that get you in the playoffs, and others that help you win in the playoffs".
Vanek helps you get in the playoffs. - Pecafan Fan
yup. had a big hand in us finishing as high as we did. i'm not opposed to bringing him back, personally. but i also don't expect much offence from him playing with Plekanec. |

Again, I don't want to be an internet doctor, but we don't know the extent of Price's injury...if it's serious, and he requires surgery, he might be out for a substantial amount of time, and the Habs may need an able goaltender who can do the job until he's back. - stinger67
Same happened to Tampa and fact is, the best option was also their 3rd goalie. Tokarski has no experience but he has the talent and the poise to get the nod. But yeah, Budaj isn't a very good goalie while being a great back up team wise... |

That's also what i think. You won't spark him on that line. |

Tokarski has also been a starter for a few years. if this was a one game thing, where Price had a case of the runs that couldn't be plugged or something and couldn't go 30 seconds without poopting himself, Budaj would have gotten the call last night. |

nope. even his goals against Boston all came on the PP. time to bump him back up to the no. 1 line. |

Habs got in the playoffs without him...Enough heart and soul guys to build on. Vanek won't be one of them... - FuzE_gus
What I meant is "in general".
A team like, say, Winnipeg, or the Predators, could spend an awful lot of money to have a guy like Vanek help them get into the playoffs. |

He is a known winner coming off a very good season in the AHL, and yeah he is a better candidate than Budaj to win you a best of 6 series especially considering Budaj's track record in the playoffs. |

Especially if Vanek could hurt Pavelec in warm up. |

Winnipeg would need to clear some space in order to do so. The Preds on the other hand...
If Michel Therrien would let him on the first line, i actually wouldn't mind to see Vanek resigned. |

I think Vanek doesn't want to get injured before he signs his big money contract in Minny. Why risk getting hurt when , to him, signing in Minny is the big prize? |

The Jets have $21 million in cap space with 16 players signed. They have plenty of space. |

Yeah yeah i already did my mea culpa. I really don't see him sign there and i believe that the Jets need a starter, a center and a RW not much of a LW unless they trade Kane, which could happens at draft day... |

It was just an example.
I could have used Florida instead of Winnipeg. |

Oh i see, just saw your comment but didn't see what was previous. If the Wild don't want him i really could see him in Nashville. And if the Blues don't trade for Spezza they could also go after him... |
