This certainly has a lot to do with it but to think that this happened by design is a bit of a stretch imo. The games against Chicago and a few against Detroit to name a few were exciting and very fast paced games. I agree that some adjustments were made and they paid off in spades.

It is.

But I was under the impression that Therrien didn't know what he was doing, but I have to admit I was wrong. Hence the theory.

So he risked his team making the playoffs just so they could be rested enough to suddenly play a style that makes them an elite team?

Alright...

Thing is, most of his "questionable" decisions have panned out so yeah, what Stormey said.

Price was just ok in the Tampa series. As good as he needed to be.

But he STOLE a couple of games in the Bruins series.

- StormCloud

thought the only game he stole was game 1. i assume you're referring to games 3 and or 7.

It's a stretch, but I didn't see you come up with a plausible explanation.

his personnel decisions drive me crazy sometimes but he's proven us wrong as a coach i think. he's gotten everything he could out of this team in 2 years. everything. you have to feel for him though, second straight year Price goes down in the playoffs. it's got to be frustrating. that's a lot of work undone...

Wow, idiot. Leafs are signing Matt Greene for 3.5mil and trading Lupul and a 2nd they don't own for Stastny.

I know that losing Lupul loses an offensive threat that even teams like the Blackhawks don't have, but you need to give to get.

- AdamFrench

Can't believe you didn't mention the trade for Malkin.

They all hate Galchenyuk and once he was hurt they decided to actually try to spite him?

Typical leaf fan.

Can't wait for your team to sign Orpik and trade for Stewart.

edit : and sign Pouliot!

- DrRecchi

Pretty sure they were getting Joe Thornton... in order to make sure an epic playoff collapse never happens again.

I don't think it's a stretch that a coach would adopt a more aggressive style in the playoffs...

I'm gonna guess that it includes 75% of the Marlies, being ready for prime time and leading the Leafs to a stanley cup run.
