So many goalie rumore and not one involving Vancouver or Toronto? The two teams most likely to make goalie moves.

Toronto might make a move but it would be Reimer, not Bernier, and people aren't going to make as much of fuss about a backup.

I think if you need a starter, this is a good group to choose from. The real problem for some teams, is getting that decent backup.

I am on the fence with Emery and I would bring him back if the price was right, but what other options for backups are there?

Possible free agent UFAs backups:
Alex Stalock
Chad Johnson
Thomas Greiss
Al Montoya
Justin Peters
Martin Brodeur (If he doesn't retire)
Carter Hutton
Tim Thomas (Again, if he doesn't retire)
Curtis McElhinney
Chad Johnson
Jonas Gustavsson
Ilya Bryzgalov
Scott Clemenssen
Emery

Past that you're getting into guys who are playing in the AHL aside from a few call-ups.
Now, I have no idea who out of that list is unlikely to be signed. To figure out likely candidates you'd probably have to look into which teams have good prospects in the AHL who are looking to/willing to promote them to the big league backup.

And then, of course, there's teams that might be willing to trade their backup. Toronto springs to mind, although I don't know that they have anyone to replace Reimer.

I find it pretty ridiculous that Colorado would have interest in Miller but it would be funny because it would make the already unbelievable Reto Berra trade even dumber.

The only rumor that make even a morsel of sense is Miller to Pitt.
If Miller actually signs with pitty, I can see MAF being moved to a team like the jets or the isles.

NJ doesnt want a 5+million backup so no hiller..they wont give up assets to acquire a guy for 30 games like Niemi or Fleury would. Do you even realize they have a guy who had a sub 2.00 GAA and .921 Sv% already locked up?

Colorado already has a guy locked in, who won 40+ games, so no Miller.

MAF is not going to a team already questionable in the playoffs

Miller would make a better back up then Berra. And means varly plays less games.

and you would have 13 million tied up in goalies

I get it now ......since the Devils can't score they will play 6 goalies and play for a 0-0 shootout loss (we all know what happens in the shootout with the Devils anyway )...........

On a serious note the only way (and I believe this is NOT the case) I can see NJ interested in any one of those goaltenders is if they think Cory won't resign with them or Cory already told them he thinking of leaving after his contract is up. Then they would have to trade Cory before the draft (like last year) and then trade for one of these goalies. Then they probably bring back Marty for 1 more year as a "split" goalie with Hiller or Niemi. I just don't get why Cory would want out now with Marty gone and him being the clear cut #1 now.

Fleury for Wheeler
- cap1681

I'd take Fleury, but not at that price. Only one more year left on his contract. How about Paul Postma and a 2nd? You guys need D... he's young and good.
