I don't see Colorado or NJ interested in goalies. Schnider is good and young, Varlamov had a great year last year, they don't need starters. San Jose could use an upgrade over Niemi. Fleury would do so much better with an actual defense in front of him but I think Miller is on the top of their list. Pens will likely grab Hiller and he will get lit up, guy is horrible. He was the worst goalie on the Anaheim Ducks. His sv% was awful considering he doesn't face many shots.

Schneider is 28 and this is going to be his big money contract, he's the youth on that team

So Avs just sign to Varly to a 6 year extension at 5.9m Cap Hit...so they look at moving him with other assets to try and land a Top 4 Dman... Just to sign Miller at probably a heftier Cap Hit while eating up cap space when the Avs are trying to resign Both Stastny and O'Reilly.

I guess you dont understand the asset management and Cap side of hockey. But youre a flyers fan, youre accustomed to justifying dumb trades and over priced contracts

its May...if nothings signed by end of August then you can ask that.

If SJ does anything, it would be to trade away Niemi for a 3rd rd pick and middle prospect, sign Hiller (Thornton and Hiller are buddies from back in the previous lockout when Thornton suggested he give the NHL a shot) and bring back Stalock as a heir apparent under Hiller.

You do know we have Varly and Berra both signed for 3+ seasons already. Goaltending isnt the issue in Colorado, Defensive Depth is

I think if you need a starter, this is a good group to choose from. The real problem for some teams, is getting that decent backup.

I am on the fence with Emery and I would bring him back if the price was right, but what other options for backups are there?

So many goalie rumore and not one involving Vancouver or Toronto? The two teams most likely to make goalie moves.
