Not sure if he was on Pens' radar, but looks like Benning is off the job market.

Expect the Vancouver Canucks to finally name Jim Benning as their new GM later this week. Hiring coach will be next. Trotz high on the list. |

I'm not in the know on who would potentially be good GM's. I'm sure the Pens will get a good one. |

I literally have no idea. My concern with him would be lack of experience and also he was Shero's right hand man. New GM's probably have veteran GM's circling trying to take advantage. Not saying he'd let them but that would be a little troublesome |

Ek is a moron Miller would cost more and he looked average in St. Louis. If we are not getting an upgrade in performance they need to get a cheaper cap hit

That's the key... You can't swap out one year of an expensive Fleury for multiple years of an even more expensive Miller, for a slightly marginal upgrade if at all.

Neal is a 40g scorer, that does carry some weight, and the illusion that the GM is making + moves when they move to Brooklyn. |

It was very disappointing playoff for Miller. I thought he'd be like Hank with that team in front of him. |

Lets be honest, Miller has looked like crap since the 10' Olympics. |

Yes but he was playing in Buffalo so it kind of gave him an excuse |

and that was playing behind a good defensive team. He'd look pedestrian playing behind the Pens. |

He had pretty darn good numbers on a HORRIBLE Buffalo team this season.
It seems like he had another case of the Jarome Iginla, first ever time traded, new organization, yay somebody wants me, wow playoffs are fun, oooopps, I needed to had to play harder seasons |

I agree, but either way I am not interested in Miller at any higher cap than what Fleury already is at. Besides, only 1 more yr of MAF. If he has a good yr he can be resigned most likely cheaper, if not his starting goalie days are over. |

Neal/Scuderi for Marleau +Low pick - Orpik44
I don't know. I like Marleau but I'm not sure I'd do that. I'd rather move Scuderi for a pick if possible. Keep Neal unless it's for a better haul and maybe take a flyer on a guy like Havlat. But there's certainly options out there. |
