a stroke history is something that makes him more likely to have another.
- ChrisMS

not sure that applies to him. i could wake my girlfriend up and ask her, but i would probably regret that.

from my understanding, his stroke was a special circumstance given his heart condition that he was born with.

normal risk factors for a stroke still apply, but i thought his stroke was different from the one that a 50+ year old gets.

again, i'm not the medical expert in the household but that was my understanding.

Absolutely rigth about it. Couldn't have explained it better. + Letang is a fitness machine and is always in great shape.

Those points in the season go low enough and your one of the 14 teams looking in from the outside.
- ChrisMS

Yes, I know...but would you rather finish 4th playing the young guys and have them ready for the playoffs...or have another year like this? Like I said, I am tired of the 109 point seasons with early exits.

And now they are medicating him. The medical minds know what happened and are taking the steps in preventing it from happening again.

Please point out, with detailed analysis, exactly what the problem is, why it has not been remedied when it's completely obvious to a person on a message board, and how Malkin is the key to success.

Scuderi for umberger....

Gets rid of scuds and brings in a guy bottom 6 guy who can be physical and get in front of net... probably will have to let vitale walk which I'm cool with

He hasn't missed 30+ games in two of the last three.
- Oneonta Penguin

No, but Martin has missed more games than Letang over the last 2 years. And going back through 2008-09 (Letang's first full year in the league), Letang has played 37 more total games than Martin.

I get that Letang has a bad recent injury history, but he's in the same ball park as Martin. Both of them have had exactly one 82 game season in their careers.

I love your thought process here but you're adding salary and paying a bottom 6 guy almost 5 mil. No thank you. If anyone in the league would give you anything for scuds I'd jump at it. It's sad because I thought we'd be having this conversaion a year from now. He just looks old. Hopefully some oher GM stil thinks they can use him.

Panthers for their 4th or 5th rd pick? Which would almost be a high 3rd or 4th... win win for both teams

More like a 7th round pick or a guy in the ECHL.

I just looked at pens picks.. 1st 4th 5th 6th 7th... forgot we have no 2nd and 3rd... they r (frank)ed for prospects with nothing to show via trades cup or players....

New GM better get at draft... bc free agency is poor. Young kids better step up next season...

And one that he'll accept a trade to.

Every time I try to find a spot to trade guys like Scuderi, Neal or Fleury to, I keep coming back to the Islanders as potential landing spots.

Hopefully we can recover one of those picks for Niskanen's rights or something.

That's the key. Scuds will have to want to go there. Something tells me he's not accepting a trade to a cap floor team.

IDK, if I were a mid 30's NHL player with 2 cups already ending my days in south FL and being guaranteed to have most of the spring off wouldn't be a bad deal IMO

Pat Brisson wouldn't have signed him.... (But only because Scuderi is represented by someone other than CAA)

It would be a good home for Neal... He obviously needs a top end center, and he'd have that in Tavares and possibly Strome.

Garth Snow? Isn't that a good enough answer?
