Phew we can all relax now. He's has to score 50 to make up for the abomination he called a season last year.

It's perplexing that they brought back Carlyle for another year. This team is destined to be right where they are, a year from now. The 8th pick isn't bad, but they need to do something to move into the top 3 of the draft. To get a front line centre, they have to draft one. Even if it means moving a young asset, we have to move up. To worry about a 4th line, when we can't even build a proper 1st line is blarney. Time to start thinking about moving Phaneuf. Something like Phaneuf, Gardiner and the 8th pick, for Eric Gudbranson and the first overall pick. If we have to take back some cap, like Brian Campbell, then they should do so.

I'm not a big fan of Gagner. I don't think he'd help the Leafs much.

its not really abut how badly u need gagner. ( if bolland walks, gags could be usefull) but more about taking some salary back for a couple seasons for unloading dions 7 mil.

I aint a phaneuf hater. he gets alot of undeserved hate. he certainly has his shortcomings and was absolutely fed to the wolves this year, but he's a true top pairing guy that can eat fairly big minutes and be effective at both ends of the ice.
but I also don't think hes worth 7x7

and if u wanna move him id assume ull have to eat some or take back a significant chunk in a contract that stretches for at least a few years


and to address the other guys question; no one else available is as good as him. but guys who are actually 7 million dollar dmen generally aren't made available. theyre held on to for dear life.
