Umberger and a 1st for Kesler? - Roadkill90
That's like watching Shark Tank. You hear the deal, say thank you and wait to see if there are better offers. |

I'm just trying to see how many ridiculous deals I can imagine until somebody bites |

If you said Boone Jenner and a first we would listen we wold even probably take Umberger to to relieve you of the burden
I'm sure we could even throw in David Booth |

I hate to see it, RJ has done a good job for Columbus while he's been here. But fans have been calling for this for a long time now. It will open up more ice time for younger players, especially Jack Skille, and maybe it is time for him to go. But I think he has value to the CBJ.
Good luck to him whatever happens. - jkumpire
If Jack Skille is someone you're looking to see on a permanent basis in your lineup... just oye. |

I'm struggling to figure out why RJ wouldn't recognize his role and stay put. He isn't going to make the $$ anywhere else he goes. Maybe trying to save face because he knew he was a compliance buyout probability.
Sad to see it end this way. Hey Penguin fan - hometown boy sound good? I guess with no GM a quick move isn't going to happen…. |

Umberger for Leino... problem for problem. At least Leino was a nice producer before coming to Buffalo... he had a nice run in the playoffs for Philly, as well. - djc1877

I actually thought of Burrows for Umberger but Canuck fans hate to let go of any player. Even salary and both can be big impact or low impact .

True dat. Burrows was good for 24 minutes near the end of the season. I want to keep him for life.
I would take Umberger for Booth and change. I'd get an emotional coach in for him and Kesler and go from there. |

The Sabres could be a possible landing spot.
We r looking for a vet presence, and need to add salary
Doubt we'd give much back though...
Maybe a 4th?

I'm not, but a lot of people like his game, and for much of the year people were wondering how he could get more ice time with the CBJ instead of being stuck in the AHL. Coach Richards also had a lot a of good things to say about him during the season. YMMV. |

If Buffalo isn't on RJ's list of 10 teams he won't go to I'd take that deal, provided that the CBJ aren't retaining any salary. |
