I'm glad we all got a kick out of that. To be honest though, I have a hard time thinking of who could possibly want him. - Roadkill90
You could take a chance on Clarkson. Toronto would jump at that deal. |

The biggest problem might be getting Vinny to waive. - VANTEL
he'll waive, last season was hell for him |

Toronto really needs a center and as I suggested the the Blue Jacket fan would be wiling to trade Clarkson |

yeah, i've chatted with them about that, but i think clarkson's contract is worse than vinny's |

You would have to think that Last year was an off year for Clarkson or a bad fit.
I wonder if a 3 rd line of Goc (UFA ) Hartnell and Clarkson could work? it would be high energy. or even a trade for a bigger body like Sutter as the third liner. |

i don't think the flyers will make a load of changes
they still need a young dman who has #1 upside potential (they'll never get one unless they draft one)
i've given up hope for yandle, s.weber or even edler |

If any team is willing to take on his salary without the CBJ retaining any of it, I think a late round pick would get the job done. If not, I'm guessing that he gets bought out. CBJ need his roster spot more than they need to dump his salary for cap purposes. CBJ have about 22.7 million in cap space, after re-signing Johansen, D Mac, Prout, Erixon, and Savard, there should still be 10 mil plus in cap space, if 4.6 mil more in cap space becomes available the Jackets could be big players in FA. |

CBJ really don't need Vinny. C is a position we are set at, but we need LW/RW. I personally wouldn't want anything to do with Vinny's contract either. |

God no. RJ would get bought out before that would happen. |

It's totally understandable. CBJ spent their first 12 or so years in existence looking for decent centers. Now it's shocking to hear we are slightly overstocked in the C department. I'm guessing Jenner is going to stay on the wing for a while. I'm curious to see if Wenneberg plays on the wing too if he makes the team. |

Oilers blogger on oilers nation discussed:
Umberger + 2nd for gagner since howson is in our front office. He said it'd be a mistake but I'd listen.
Edit: Columbus has good centre depth but gagner can play RW. I am a bit hesitant to deal for a guy on the wrong side of 30. Does add size and vet presence. I would prefer to sign him if he's bought out or send a pick. |

I think the CBJ would rather not take on Gagner's contract. He doesn't really fit in with the way we play, and we already have one small RW (Atkinson) in our lineup. RJ also has a NTC, so he may decline a trade to EDM. |

i agree, the cbj don't want to get sucked into taking another bad or questionable contract when the best solution would be to take a pick or just buy him out |

Maybe he'll go to Nashville now that Laviolette is the coach there. Apparently he likes his style/systems or lack there of. |
