that helps in getting the center log jam dealt with if they moved vinny, so i'd be fine with that as well, even though my morbid curiosity wants to give him another year.
- hammarby31

I think Hextall shouldn't bother with the stress and risk losing more hair by trying to move Lecavalier. We absolutely should give Lecavalier a second chance, I think it would be stupid not to. I think the masses are not thinking with logic and allowing their minds to run wild. If there was away to move Lecavalier without carrying dead cap space, that would be great but it seems unlikely. To speak as if Lecavalier cannot play at the NHL level or rebound is unrealistic regardless of his rough season.

No they want to get younger. They are hoping for a player a pick and a prospect for Kesler. we are going nowhere this year so it is time to get younger.

I know Viny is old ,but if he can fill Keslers roll for two years while our prospects develop then that's what we need to do.

- VANTEL

Vincent Lecavalier will never be able to fill Ryan Kesler roll the Vancouver Canucks. Vincent Lecavalier his game is not balanced enough.

I actually got into it with a friend over Facebook about Ryan Kesler situation with the Vancouver Canucks during the regular season. I have a question for you as a fan. I know the Vancouver Canucks have interest in moving him, but do you believe that customer wants to go or stay?

Edm: Sean couturier + van 2nd rounder

Van: 3rd overall + phil 1st

Phil: kesler + gernat

Thoughts?

I know Philly prefers to give up schenn first but I wouldn't put up a lottery Pick for schenn.

- ystoil

I think if Canucks could get 2 firsts they would be crazy not to.

So basically the Flyers trade their 2014 1st and Couturier for Kesler and Martin Gernat? Really?

No thank you.

I know Vinny won't replace Kesler it's more of a band aid while the prospects develop.

Kesler is the best player in the deal....

He would be a great fit. But hey fair enough if you guys don't like it. Just thought I'd throw it out there. What don't you like though? Keslers injuries?

No.

Because the Flyers are trading Couturier and a 1st round pick for an aging C and a prospect I haven't even heard of.

Couturier and a first would be the starting point for a player like Subban. Not Ryan (frank)ing Kesler

Kesler is on the downswing and Couturier is on the upswing. Couturier might be better than Kesler by the end of next season.

Gernat is a fringe prospect. He has the upside of a third pairing defenseman and PP specialist. I wouldn't trade Couturier by himself for Kesler and Gernat. I don't even think Ed Snider would do that.

he's never really recoverd after the richards hit maybe? i'm just guessing....haven't looked at his numbers.
- hammarby31

I'm looking at 2 numbers:

1: The number of years left on Booth's deal

$0: the amount of cash the Flyers would be eating from Lecavalier.

I think you need to change to Kesler Edler Yakupov to Flyers.

To Edmonton Coots and and Edler and Vancouvers 2 nd Flyers second

To Vancouver EDm first Flyers first and Gagne

Yeah, he should give his head coach that stress and hair loss trying to fit Lecavalier into the line-up, plus hang onto the headaches that come with the cap crunch of paying a guy who doesn't fit the coach's system and is a two way liability $4.5mm

How is Edler going to Philly & Vancouver?

Sorry, unless the return is named PK Subban, Alex Pietrangelo, Drew Doughty or similar, Couturier isn't available.

Not saying it'd be a straight up deal, and Couturier would be part of a package, bu I'm not trading him for a 30 year old with Kesler's injury history, Edler's recent inconsistencies, or Yakupov's maturity issues.

All of them are good players-or in Yak's case a kid with great potential-but Couturier already plays Selke level defense, is an elite PK guy and developing offensively. This is really the first time he's had an extended chance to play with skilled wingers and be counted on to provide some offense.

Only way the Flyers move Couturier is for a young defenseman. They don't need forwards and Edler is coming off of an awful year.

You have Edler going to two teams also.

Yes Edler would probably not waive to go to EDm but once he is traded he loses his NTC so you turn around and send him to Edm

I don't think the Canucks and Flyers are good trading partners. We're not looking to get older. The Flyers have several good d prospects, so they'd like to keep the forwards young.

Flyers have very little need for Kesler. Couturier is a very similar player, but much younger. Edler is coming off of a horrible season. Flyers could use a player like him, but not if he's playing poorly.
