Coud u imagine, Crosby & Malkin playing under the stifling defensive first system of Trotz? That should be ahhhhhh interesting. Maybe it was wise the Leafs didn't get Trotz. Hate to think of Kessel getting frustrated playing under him. Big stars like to be big stars. Their ego takes a brusing if their stats are down.

Gotta laugh at posts like this. WTF was he suppose to do in Nashville? They've had ONE 80 scorer in their history, a 30+ year old Paul Karyia, no offensive weapons in recent years means you play defence first.

2006/07 they had 271 GF, that's not a "stifling defensive" system.

Trotz could be headed to Pens or Caps with Shero?

Quite different scenarios.....good thing you have the inside track on this kind of stuff

- The-O-G

Seriously!

If Shero wants Trotz as coach in Washington...then he probably would have wanted him to replace Bylsma here...which is probably why he is also getting fired.

At least that required some kind of logical connect the dots approach...which is more than I can say for:

How ridiculous did the Penguins look trying to trap the Blue Jackets? The Pens tried to trap for the first time in Game Four of the Quarterfinals. I have a feeling this is why they give up so many goals in the last five minutes of periods and can't seem to win low-scoring games against a lower-seeded team every season.

As far as big stars, Modano and Hull needed Ken Hitchcock, Guy Carbonneau, Kirk Muller, and Joe Nieuwendyk to succeed. It's time for Pittsburgh to go there.

I meant my post as, cause Crosby is a baby who would probably get frustrated under Trotz when he's not leading the NHL in scoring due to Trotz's defensive system.

Yeah probably the reason why Shero got fired. He probably wanted to hire Trotz but the big baby Syd probably cried to Mario that he doesn't want a defensive coach like Trotz.

Would love to see Ron Wilson in Vancouver. A-hole coach, A-hole team. A-hole fans, yup they all deserve each other.

Haha.....kettle....black....

Why not try a JFJ joke while u are rolling. Your franchise is a joke. And your team is terrible still and shana is not going to fix it.

I want to see Torts to the Pens since I know he'll make Crosby cry

Let's start a kickstarter campaign and see if we can raise enough for his salary

DB is a goner...just firing Shero is a strategic move...probably given the state of several other teams and the GM/head coaching vacancies....and others that may or may not arise.

Additionally...current Pens staff has two former head coaches on it...not saying either will be picked as the new coach...but certainly if you have these guys within the org you don't want to let them go yet.

Bylsma retained?

Bylsma has not been fired.

The new GM will decide the coach.

Source tells me Bylsma was kept on because there is a definite supply problem with NHL coaches. IMO, that supply problem will only be worse

Disagree. Shero drafted Crosby and Malkin and not much else.

Depleted the organization of any depth by trading for rentals that did not quite work out. 1 SC.

Not good enough when you have 2 of the best players in the league on your roster.

Shero didn't draft Malkin or Crosby.

His first draft pick was Staal

That works, since the Caps actually have a pretty good amateur scouting department. Keep them, and let Shero take over the main duties.
