Well they started as an expansion team and haven't had much in terms of offensive talent. I don't recall them ever having top line talent.

Making the playoffs essentially every other year with an internal cap as tight as the Preds is no small feat.

7 playoff births in 15 years on a cap strapped team like the Preds compared to 1 birth on a cap strap team like the Panthers in the same time period helps put it into perspective.

Not only is he not over-rated, he's probably one of the top-3 coaches in the world, which is why he lasted 15 years.

That likely has a lot to do with Letang's cap hit and health issues more than anything else. Oh, and hopping on whatever wagon is closest after another disappointing season.
