The worst part was that his facts were wrong. He said the Blackhawks played Keith, Seabrooke and Hjalmarsson early in their careers. They were all given 3-5 years of development time before becoming everyday defenseman.

I really don't think he even checks his facts ever. He just pulls bullpoop out of anywhere.

Yeah, I'm shocked he wants them to play Morin next year, I thought that was the centerpiece of his deal for Weber

No. He said the Flyers should trade for Weber, but not include Morin under any circumstances. I'm not kidding about this. That was another one of his beauties

My all time favorite was when he said we should trade Laughton for Iginla. This was last season when they were pretty much out of the playoff hunt. I found the article.

"He would cost them Scott Laughton but this team has no choice right now. "
Guess they found another choice.

Hockey junkies,

How did Laughton look this year versus Couts 1st year. I realize they are different players, just trying to get things in perspective.

Laughton was in Oshawa this past season. Couts played for the Flyers from age 18

Yeah...no real comparisons can be drawn between Couts and Laughton at this point, really

Do you think Laughton this year looks even close to Couts at 18?

Laughton looked like an overage junior manhandling lesser competition. Can't really draw any inferences from that. Perhaps a good comparable would be Boone Jenner, who (if i remember right) had a similar career arc in juniors and scored something like 16 goals for Columbus this year.
