He hasn't particularly drafted well, either.
- johndewar

He's been the GM since 2006. Not the greatest haul. 2012 seems like a good year though.

Yeah Crosby's body language influencing ownership disturbs me...
Probably because I have a dirty mind and had to delete the post I had just typed...

How much do pouliot and jokinen get on the open market? Think flyers can afford them both? Would definitely sure up the left side.

Scott Hartnell ($4.750m) / Brayden Schenn ($2.250m) / Wayne Simmonds ($3.975m)
Benoit Pouliot ($1.800m) / Sean Couturier ($1.750m) / Matt Read ($3.625m)
Michael Raffl ($1.100m) / Scott Laughton ($0.863m) / Adam Hall ($0.600m)
Jay Rosehill ($0.675m) / Zac Rinaldo ($0.750m) /

I would advocate getting Jussi Jokinen, if only to make sure the Flyers still have a Finnish dude on the team.

If we draft Kapanen's son, do we still need a Fin on the NHL roster or is it fine to just have one in the organization?

I would do it. Good way to revamp the 4th line with more speed and skill.

wrong he said in a later interview that he was misquoted and that no nhl team has shown interest in him. He still has plenty of interest in coming back to the nhl.

The amount of <6ft NHL defenseman has more than doubled over the last 10 years.

I'm hoping we draft a guy like Honka in the draft. He's got great all around talent and will solve our need for having a Fin in the organization. A guy like him would have had no chance of going in the first round 20 years ago.

I actually think Fonzie wouldn't be bad in Pittsburgh.

I think the Pens' vets would revolt under Mike Keenan if he got the job. Mike Keenan is the black hole of "having fun".

God, just the thought of Torts coaching Malkin has me in stitches.

I would be VERY interested in Jussi Jokinen. Very, very versatile, jack of all trades kind of player. Can play center if need be and is pretty good at face-offs, but ideally I see him on Giroux's line as well.

If were going to sign a FA forward, I'm all for signing him. The rest of the roster should be filled out via FA or trades.

Komarov would be a solid add. Adding guys like him and Jokinen would add missing elements to the forward group IMO. Problem then is that it's crowded, but were likely looking at moving a body or two anyway.
