Well I think this series the bigger difference is that they are no longer that small and they hit back.
- CH1909-2009

Indeed. They've outhit Boston in a couple of games I think, too.

I agree. But still can't get caught up in it. Hit back and move along.

You are right about the first part...but the second part, grinding games favor the Bruins.

I hope Therrien doesn't go head into game 7 with a "this is just another game" mentality (which by the way was a staple of the Jacques Martin Coaching Era...both in Ottawa and Montreal)... He and the player have to know that they'll have to be even BETTER than they were in game 6...

Did the habs finally figure that if you put pressure on the other teams D, they'll cough up the puck too? They sure did that last night, here's hoping they don't forget that in game 7.

well when i say grinding, i don't mean necessarily physical. i mean tigh, defensive hockey, like what we saw in Game 4.

Beaulieu did great last night.

Not anything fancy, kept his game simple.

Anyone's game looks simple compared to Subban.

last night was one of the most physical performances from this team in years. even Markov was laying the body.

I'd be happy with a 2-1 game. Barn-burners don't often favor Montreal.

That hip check on Lucic was a thing of beauty.

Game 7 will be tougher on him with Boston getting last change. but he looks like he can handle it. you wish he had been in the lineup all winter though...

One thing I like is how Therrien has looked confident and relaxed during press conference, especially if you compare to Julien who has been for the most part on the defense, babbling about uncalled stuff, etc.

Really better than last playoffs where he was all over the place vs. MacLean and his mind games.

He played what, 9 minutes last night? I don't think it's going to be a big issue.

Look at it this way:

He's the freshest/healthiest dman playing in this series at the moment.

I am also thoroughly enjoying Dale Weise's mockery of Lucic just about every chance he gets.
- 3M

I find it strange that Lucic either believes his muscle-guy celebrations/taunts are cool, or lacks the imagination to come up with anything better.

i think in those fast-paced games, the crowd energy plays a part and is a real advantage for the home team. i'm not sure Montreal would be able to keep up for 60 minutes on the road. grinding games tend to favour the road team/underdog.
- Gary_B.

ok, now I get it.

Montreal shouldn't change a thing about the way they played. That's their best chance at a win.

I'll say the same thing I did about game 6. Their best effort might not be enough to get it done. A lot will have to go right for them on top of that effort.

This has been Julien's schtick forever. It's deliciously ironic that he complains about other teams diving to work the refs when he's doing essentially the exact same thing.

that team has serious issues also their goalie is a mess. how he managed to post 2 shutouts in this series is fascinating and a true testament to the Rangers' [poor offence.
