I was looking at this list of Every Line Combination of the Flyers this year and its funny that the two best CF% forwards on our team (Voracek and Hartnell) were the two guys who spent the least amount of time with Lecavalier.

So was Hartnell very good this year, or did he just luck out from being kept away from Vinny? The world may never know.

... or it's probably a little of column A and a little of column B like it normally is.

I think we can attribute it more to his book deal than anything else.

Enough is enough though.

A squirt in a glove is funny and fairly harmless, I mean those things are drenched anyhow. Squirting a guy in the face from the bench while he's playing the puck is completely ridiculous. It's akin to hooking him with your stick from the bench. There's no place for that. I thought the fine wasn't enough even though it was the max.

Squirting a guy in the face while he's on the ice even after play is blown dead is totally disrespectful. Realistically it should be an unsportsmanlike penalty but given the current ongoing situation I don't think a fine is out of order.

- mayorofangrytown

I see your point. (I did think the squirting into the glove was funny and felt bad for thinking it was funny.)

Would anyone be ok with a trade like this?

To Winnipeg:
B.Schenn
L.Schenn
3rd Round 2014

To Philly:
E. Kane
Z. Bogossian

Also say I would still try to move Vinny to Nashville or somewhere else to his liking.

Reasons for deal:

Kane would be nice upgrade on the wings as he can fly and finish with a good amount of grit as well. Bogossian i think needs a change and hopefully the potential finally comes where he and coburn would be a nice 1st pairing.

If you can't sign schenn then you move him and luke to a place i thought was close to home. Winnipeg needs a center to replace jokinen. Also now you could open up the second line center for Couturier and Laughton can slide into the 3rd line roll or midrnge FA or someone else. I think it gives more roster flexibility. Lets Couturier get more offense opportunities and Laughton fills in the 3rd line roll on a ELC deal.

In a half a second. There is no way we are getting that kind of value for B Schenn though.

seriously. just open the (frank)ing doors and let people park and attend for free, for (frank)'s sake. JFC.

the league has tickets for the families, agents, advertisers and marketing partners. They'll release a portion of tix to the Flyers who will distribute them for free to season ticket holders through a not-yet-released plan.

I don't think Winnipeg goes for it. Kane himself would cost more than B Schenn and a 3rd, and I doubt they'd do Bogo for L Schenn.

Also, as you pointed out, you're now bumping the centers up, and need a 4th line center. If B Schenn goes, I'd rather hold onto Vinny, let him have a full year as the 2C, keep Coots as the 3C, and make Laughton the 4C (to start). If Laughton's coming along, then you can explore options. Starting on the 4th line isn't bad, as that's where Richards spent his rookie season.

Guy has been on the beat for years. Morganti, Greenberg and Panaccio dominated the hockey beat in Philly for more then a decade.

I was kind of thinking it too after I looked again. But maybe there is something else to sweeten the deal. Maybe a 1st in 2015 with the hope your picking near the end.

Theres just no way they trade a dman for a lesser dman and a forward for a lesser forward with only 3rd rounder as compensation. Or even a first rounder as compensation.

I forget the exact rule of thumb, but newspaper writers are allegedly supposed to write so that a 12 year old can understand it.

Think of that the next time you read Tim's work and it'll make more sense.

- johndewar

Writers to general audiences are to write to a high school readability because you are supposed to be informing and teaching about the subject at hand, not teaching people language skills.

For example, an 8th grade history book should be written at a 6th grade reading level. You are teaching history, not reading. Same thing goes for journalism.

You can always keep Hall on the 4th line. I was just trying to upgrade the wings and d with more talent with players that seem to maybe need a change in scenery. I think Kane will be moved this season. I know he has talent but when i read stuff from Winnipeg outlets just seems they want to move on. Kind of like when philly wanted to move Richards.

You also have to look at needs. Winnipeg needs centers. Kane and Schenn are both 22 and both had 41 points. Kane already carries a 5.25 cap hit where your probably getting some cost control with schenn on this next deal. But that is why I said after rerefiewing rote I wrote I would try to sweeten the deal.

Kane is a 22 year old with a 30 goal season under his belt already. Im pretty sure that Winnepeg would be hesitant to even trade him for B Schenn and a first, although he is exactly the type of player we need on our top line.
