haha yeah true.

like anything, i just think its just a tool whose level of benefit or harm is entirely in the hands of those wielding it.

It's a breeding ground for opinions and misinformation, yet it has become the first go to place for news

I don't think society is dumb, I think it's ignorant and lazy
- funmaster18

Thats probably a more accurate portrayal.

It just bothers me that no one ever asks why anymore. You can find the root of all problems by asking why several times in a row. It's never as simple as just one why.

If we think the internet will get better we are kidding ourselves. Now there is tons of data to query and patterns to follow to make sure we are getting getting our fill of appropriate bull poop

I think society is just dumb. The simpler the article, the more fans will enjoy it.

"Ryan and Weber good." "Schenn and Coburn bad."

- PhillySportsGuy

I forget the exact rule of thumb, but newspaper writers are allegedly supposed to write so that a 12 year old can understand it.

Think of that the next time you read Tim's work and it'll make more sense.

i get it that everyone needs to stir the pot every now and then.

but just the level of being blatantly wrong. and i realize its largely opinion based and its hard to be technically wrong, but jesus some of the stuff he says/tosses out there.

and even the grammar stuff. thats inexcusable on any professional level.

its just embarrassing on many levels

i once emailed him several years ago about how his description of a particular play was completely inaccurate, and he replied by blaming the site lines of the press box.

The internet is a soapbox, for sure. It's a way to get your thoughts out before you have time to decide if it was a good idea or not. Kind of like drinking
- funmaster18

The internet was invented to proliferate pr0n.

i guess. last year he told me to "'get a life" in his blog here. it's become legendary. the hilarious thing is that what i wrote was not full of sarcasm, ripping him to shreds. it was rather innocuous. never understood why he waited for that kind of reply for that particular post. i used to crush him via email all the time, and he never much defended himself.

I would only use his articles to show a 12 year old how not to use punctuation. Just becasue you are young doesn't mean you deserve crap...

Apparently one year Pierre's Christmas card was a picture of him, his family and his Emmy. Giant Richard indeed

BTW, I wasn't trying to attack people here with that remark. I don't really take what any of the beat writers say very seriously.

I was just making the point that guys like Pannacio write to the least common denominator. He's not writing for the hockey junkie that wants in-depth analysis.

Man you are full of good one liners today. Hit up a chinese cookie factory? I keep inserting "in bed" to your posts... so far they've held together.
They might also describe many HB poster's ex girlfriends.

I was looking at this list of Every Line Combination of the Flyers this year and its funny that the two best CF% forwards on our team (Voracek and Hartnell) were the two guys who spent the least amount of time with Lecavalier.
