You mean as eager as we were to take a chance on Mason on a poorly constructed defensive team, with Grossmann being a key piece?
- SuperSchennBros

A lot of Mason's struggles came from immaturity, poor habits and bad relationships with his coaching staff. He was a 25 year old goalie with a lot of natural ability who could possibly be coached into being a good goalie again. In fact, the signs were there even before he left Columbus. They brought in a new coach and Mason was the starter coming out of camp. Then he got hurt and Bobrovsky caught fire,

Elliott bounced from Ottawa(where he was mediocre) to Colorado(where he was awful) to St Louis, where he followed up a great season with a bad one and he's been a back up since. I really don't see many teams lining up to sign him as their starter.

I think bringing Timonen back for one more year is a mistake. His speed is gone and he was never super fast. I think having him on the roster only hurts the Flyers. Gustafsson can make up for that loss in some capacity.
- Pixote Andolini

It'd have to be a major pay cut and huge role reduction for me to be OK with it. He looked dead on his skates in the playoffs.

I love Kimmo but resting him during the season against teams we really needed to beat nearing the end of the season was a bad sign to me. Plus I felt he was easily our worst PLAYER in the playoffs.

How good has Colorado been in recent years up until this season?

I agree here. Bring back Kimmo in a coaching capacity.

He's got nearly 60% of the vote now, but dont forget to vote for Giroux for play of the year.

Already wiped your memory clean of one Vincent Lecavalier?

How about Hal Gill?

I actually felt Lecavalier outplayed Brayden Schenn in the playoffs and I feel Lecavalier was one of the major reasons why we stayed the course over Detroit and Columbus. Up until Simmonds' Hat Trick in game 6, I thought he out played Simmonds for five games.

We've got a fair number of defensive prospects that have played a full season or two (three?) in the AHL, so you have to hope at least one of Alt, Lauridsen, etc. are ready to go. Or maybe Gost, Hagg or Morin will be ready to learn on the fly in the NHL ala Maata, Jones, Lindholm, Murray, etc.

THat would explain why Berube moved him to the 4th line and cut his minutes

No way. Schenn didn't do much, like most of our other forwards, but he was definitely better than VL.

So Brayden Schenn didn't take bad penalties and probably at some point shouldn't have centered the fouth line himself?

The whole Cup thing was fine. It was at least made palatable by Gags finally getting one, and Ritchie. Even still I have nothing against Richards.

But enough is enough.

It would bother me because casual fans will assume the trades backfired. As if Carter and Richards would have led us to the promised land.

Which is why it's hard for me to root for the Wild.

Also, on a related note, I really am starting to hate Quick, simply out of frustration. Similarly to how my resounding hate for anything Tim Thomas started.

I'll never forget watching the one game Lecavalier took his only penalty in the series and one fan on this site posting "Welcome back to the fouth line". One penalty! Schenn has 8 minutes to Vinny's 2 in the playoffs. Simmonds and Schenn look beyond ineffective 5 on 5 without Briere or Lecavalier playing with them. Schenn and Lecavalier should have both visited the fouth line at many points of this past season. The penalties taken by Schenn were bad.
