Technically 50/50 lol

But in all seriousness I mean even a goal like he gave up last night..... I felt the Pens carried play from that point in the first into the second period and if it wasn't for some great breakaway saves who knows how the game unfolds.

If Crosby's first shot tomorrow goes off McDonough's skate and through the five hole, the narrative changes immediately.

50/50 on Lundqvist giving up a softie? And having that happen when the game is still unfolding? I'll take that bet. A pinball goal is whatever. I'm talking about him letting in a softie (your term). To me, a softie is whiffing on an easy save, not crazy caroms.

Therein lies the difference between the Pens and the upper echelon teams. When was the last time the Pens stopped the bleeding after one goal? When they come out playing poorly, it is almost a given that they spot the other team a multi goal lead. Most people who watch this team should have had a pretty good feeling that the game was far more likely to go 2-0 than 1-1. Doesnt matter if it is on Fleury, defense, turnovers, penalties, w/e---when they come out disinterested and give up 1, the other goal is going to come soon after.

That's my point though.... Both teams have looked like world beaters when things are going their way and like a pee wee squad when they're not..... If the first goal goes in and the goal horn blares tomorrow, I think it's off to the races ala Game 7 against Washington in 09.

If the Rags come out and play hard for the first minutes and net 2 goals they will go into an impenetrable shell around lundqvist that no team can crack.

It's about coming out hard and controlling the puck.... cycle and cycle and cycle.... then after the Rags are mentally beaten like in games 2 and 4.... attack. If we come out scared, then ill be turning the game off after the first cause it'll be a done deal.

I think there have been maybe 20 total minutes across 6 games where both teams played well at the same time.

I just saved you an afternoon of having to think about hockey.
A small piece of the dead kittens one
"Well, it turns out she did really want to show me these kittens. So fine, let's get this over with, and then it's on to the main event. The problem is, and I am not a cat expert, but apparently mother cats move their kittens around a lot after they're born, so we had to find them. The cat had moved them from the laundry room to the back porch. The porch had random teenage girl crap stacked all over it. This included a wadded up volleyball net, next to which the cat had the deposited her kittens and within which they had all become entangled, strangled, and died. Yep. Five dead kittens."

Thank you very much for that. I went to 5 proms (junior, senior, girlfriend's senior, 2 friends' seniors) and ended up batting 3/5.

If the pens can control the tempo in the first 10 minutes of the 1st period tomorrow and possibly get 2 quick goals, then they will destroy the rags. If the game is tied or scoreless by first intermission, i would be very nervous as a pens fan.

Click the link to the other non prom related ones in the first paragraph. Well worth it. I dont think I did any actual work Friday between Pens articles and those failed hookup stories.

I agree with a previous post about the UFA class of 2014 being putrid. If we shake things up this offseason and aquire new players, it will be via trades, not ufa signings . Trade Neal and Letang and Shero will get a massive amount of assets in return....assets that will start & contribute right a way.

Do you have to draw the prerequisite face on the paper bag? How exactly do you draw shame?

I think Canadian licensed and sells bags with his likeness on the front of them for just such occasions. No drawing required....

Ranking the Pens current D roster.

1.Martin-3 yrs left
2. Letang -7 yrs?
3. Nisk-UFA
4. Maata-5 yrs?
5. Orpik - UFA
6. Scuds 3- yrs.

Factor in Letangs health and contract and where he stands, I don't think moving him improves the team. Nisk can make bank on the market and should. He will probably be gone. Oprik should be gone, Scuds is the piece to move. That gives Despres, Bortuzzo and someone else a spot on D.

Do they come with the book or is this one of those suggested "people also bought" deals on amazon where I can combine and save on shipping?

If Pouliot can get 2 points in game 7 he will set the all time WHL record for scoring by a dman in a single playoff season, in 2 less games than the current record holder.

He's currently tied for 1st overall.

Ben- did you go to any of these games?

I think they'll keep Orpik (good ol' boys club signing), and it will be hard to get anything for Suderi. Also, for whatever reason, they don't want to play Despres. Pouliot will probably be given a chance to win a spot next year.

it's more of a late night, as seen on TV kind of thing, I think. Or possibly something you'd see on an extended infomercial during a three hour window when there aren't any hockey games to watch because a certain team gagged it away again in the spring

Ryan, I disagree with your Crosby assessment. The slew foot is bad enough, but the antics after the stickwork on Moore bothers me the most. He knew damn-well Moore was coming after him and he kept skating till help could arrive. THEN he crosschecks a prone Ranger in the back!!! It's absurd! If he wanted to get the team going, turn and take the scrap. It's Dominic Moore, a fight he could've won and possibly change the outcome. He takes abuse all the time on the ice but there are ways of going about a counterstrike aside from the pathetic antics from last night. I'm sure his teammates notice it and inwardly aren't happy about it.

Scuds still has some value for some teams. He'd likely still be an asset for young teams with a defensive scheme that wants to 1) hit the cap floor and 2) provide veteran leadership on the blue-line if their D-corps is young. He won't get you a lot, but for a UFA signing, it's not like you gave up anything except 1 year's cap space to get him in the first place.
