I don't think the Habs have spent more than 30 seconds worth of their lives enjoying good offensive presence since like 8:30

Put the Ducks game on please

Yep. I hope he tells Ed that he appreciates his input, but he's got a plan that is going to bring a Cup to Philly.

Snider's passion is a double edged sword. It's awesome that he'll basically give the GM the tools & cash needed to win, but he can't be out making public comments and meddling.

- Jsaquella

I know. Its tough to get mad at Snider because of all he's done and you know his antics are bred from his passion to win.

He needs to take a step back and let Hexy build a solid foundation before getting some nice curtains.

Would you mind him coming back midseason?
- PhillySportsGuy

I wouldn't, but how often does that happen in hockey w/ no injury? Plus, not sure they could afford to have $2-4M unspent on the cap to start. They need help on D right away.

It is fascinating with all the financial assets, the inability to consistently develop blueline and goalie prospects is puzzling. It's not like they haven't tried and used high draft picks on those positions. It will be interesting to see what changes Hexy makes to the draft evaluation process. They appear to have experienced an uptick of success over the last two seasons, just have to avoid those multi-year droughts with prospects flaming out.

I think that in the talks, Hextall mentioned that it may require a step or two back to take 3 forward.

One thing, though: Man, can Subban ever trigger a breakout. Good Lord. No way is he getting a penny less than $7.5 per

Good thing with Coburn is, if you get him with a solid partner, he's great. But when he tries to do too much, he makes mental mistakes and has issues with the puck.

Great Robin, Lousy Batman

- Jsaquella

Yeah. Thats most 2/3 defenseman. Carle and Mez (pre-injury) were the same way.

It's the mentality of win now. Defensemen & goalies, in general, take longer to develop. Forwards, especially guys taken in the high first round, can usually step in and handle a secondary role, at least.

Seriously, look at the picks-Zubrus, Gagne, Williams, Carter, Richards, Giroux, Couturier...most of them never played a full season in the AHL, and a few of them only spent time there because of lockouts.

Yeah, he's about to be the highest paid dman in the league. They really (frank)ed him during the last contract round... his agent is going to be out for blood this time.

Why yes, as a matter of fact, I am serious.

But unfortunately, my point was refuted by this picture- this one time that shows Giroux celebrating, probably after he scored a huge goal.

The Mrs. asked me where the hell I was going, and I said "Waffle fries."

She goes, "Really? I'll come with you."

Huge pay cut ($2mm ideally) and 3rd pair role with Schenn. I like that Berube limited his 5 on 5 time, but I'd like to limit the PK time and move him to 2nd PP in favor of Streit.
- Jsaquella

That would work for me

Yeah. If he plays a full season, his minutes really need to be cut. He's not capable of playing through injuries at a high level like he used to.
