I was listening to either Oilers Now or Lowetide's show a couple of days ago and they had someone on who roasted Leon Draisaitl for being lazy and having a low compete level.

I also heard Button say Draisaitl barely makes the top five.

I'm pretty sure he was the ONLY scout who had jankowski in the first round. I feel like that was info from his brother in cgy.... Or vice versa

He's not in the top 30 on iss and is 7 for central scouting for euro skaters. He's a second to third rounder. You want us to pick him third overall?

Ya was surprised on virtanen. Stauffer had the iss lead scout on Thursday and there were question marks on his hockey sense. Pretty sure iss still has him top 10. Can't comment since I have t seen him besides highlights.

That's fair. I have no issue drafting bennet. I like what he brings and the fact he has no weaknesses. I like what draisaitl could bring a bit more although he may bloom a little later than these guys.

Although I wasn't high on ekblad from the world juniors, all of the reports on him being a two way guy and being a right shot is swaying me a bit. His skating stride and hunch over style kind of annoys me.

If we take Ekblad I'll be ok with it. Never a bad thing if we have Marincin, Klef, Nurse, Ekblad all turn out great and we can turn around and trade one of them for a great haul.

I did read bennet is easy to knock off the puck (Cordell). He will add weight but if he hits 195 max due to his frame, will he be that much tougher? Hard to say.

I think he only meant for oiler needs. Which I agree. But as we have seen, drafting for need is risky. It seems like reinhart isn't that much ahead, if at all, of the other 3 so I think you can look at needs a bit.

It is bad because we would be picking the same of what we already have, the others bring something different.

I would not be upset at getting him, he is obviously a highend talent, but for the top 4 draftees I think he is the one the team should target the least.

The other three are the ones the team needs more than another Nuge.

Meh. You can learn to think the game. I think that part (hockey IQ) gets hyped too much. These are kids that are still developing and learning. If Rein didn't have a higher hockey IQ I would be shocked considering the hockey depth of his family.

One option may be to trade down a spot if Calgary desperately wants a guy. We take the leftover which may be who oiler brass wants the most. Depends who goes at 1 and 2. I would think cgy would take reinhart over leon.
