As a Devils fan I would take him. He has heart and plays very hard every game. We have been looking for Parise's replacement and this could be the guy. Isn't afraid to go to the front of the net (like Zach), good penalty killer (like Zach) , and is an offensive threat (like Zach.) If the asking price is right, I would sign him immediately. - matty_ice_30
Agreed (for the right price)! And boy it would be priceless to see him beat Queen Henry high glove side in MSG wearing the Black & Red pitchfork. |

He isn't close to the player Parise is. You would be dissapointed quickly if that's what you are expecting.
He averages 46 points per 82 games played
Parise averages 67 points per 82 games played - sbroads24
Problem is on avg you only get about 70 gp and 40 points out of Cally. Those totals are certain to go down as he gets into his 30's based on his style of play. By the time we're ready to compete he'll be a 33 yr old broken down 25 point player making 6+ mil per. |

Wouldn't make sence for Buffalo either. Our team will be bad for a long time but not bad enough to be picking number one or 2 the next few years.Buffalo will have to be build mainly from within and with heart and grit until Ownership can prove Buffalo is a distination F/A s should want to be a part of. - buffalo 1
Couldn't be more wrong. There's no way we improve much after finishing this year 14 points behind 29th place and playing a full season without miller, vanek/moulson, and Ott. Once we get mcdavid/eichel next year and cash in all of those picks, it will be 2-3 years before we'll be competitive again. |

I am pretty sure you couldn't be more wrong here. The rebuild has been underway for a few years. The blue line is set for years. Once this years and the 2015 draft is over you are looking like a playoff team in 2016-2017 season maybe even 2015-2016 if the draft falls the right way |

I had heard from some good friends associated with USA hockey that he'd love to play with the LA Kings, and some of his team USA buddies (Quick, Brown etc.)
Not sure how the kings would make that work given cap restrictions, but he would jump at the chance.. - Johnny22
Not likely unless Gaborik does not want to sign with us. Gabby is the key to the LA Kings off season, and the price is going up since he is doing well with the team. CAP management is going to be a beast.

I think (hope) Callahan stays with Tampa and leaves us and the Isles alone. We need them high picks next year. Perfect world we'd get both Eichel and McDavid
Vanek will be in a Wild jersey probably within the first hour of free agency. - Jammerz04

i think you got his point. he is in fact VERY close to the player the parise is just doesnt score at the same pace...i think the prior dustin brown comparison is best

2015-2016 Season after McDavid Eichel draft they (Sabres) could be a much different team. Especially with Myers Risto Girgensons getting better. If the next 2 drafts fall the right way and a few good FA signings and trades look for that year where they are in playoff convo |

this gets better and better...ooh ooh my turn!!!
Im pretty sure after this years draft, Bettman will retroactively award the 2013 Stanley Cup to the sabres. |

Keep dreaming on that mcdavid/eichel happening.Keeps the fans content. Our start wont be anywhere close to what it was last year.Rookies will be more hungry and the stability created by TM and TN will improve this team alone imo. |

They dont NEED to get either guy. Getting one of them would be great but the 2015 draft is pretty stacked especially the top 15. |

2 playoff appearances in the last 10 years. We haven't been much better with 4 in those 10 years. |

We will be better by 2015-2016 but not sure if we'll be a great team after just one more year. They might make the playoffs but won't make a real run for the cup until at least 3 years |
