Oilers have the front talent and a solid goalie, they just need a couple of competent top 2 defensemen and they could be playoff bound. - YzermanIsTheMan
Being a Wings fan, you know that front talent will get them no where without discipline. That team seriously lacks any kind of leadership or character. Until there is a change in the way that their stars approach the game |

I'm' not surprised. Some of us have been talking about this possibility for months. I figure it's going to take about $69.5 for next season's roster if it stays the same - minus Handzus and Brookbank, and with Teuvo on the roster.
Somebody is getting traded this summer. My guess is that it's one of Oduya, Leddy, or Roszival. Who knows, maybe it could be more than one player, and not just one of the three defensemen listed that leaves via a trade? - EKolb13
Leddy should be dealt first...sorry Savvy...he'll fetch a nice return and maybe live up to his promise somewhere else.
Oduya and Hammer still have another 2-3 good years left as a tandem. |

Rozy would be dealt before Leddy or Oduya. Versteeg could be replaced by Morin if needed. |

I really don't think Morin will be in the Hawk organization next season |

Month ago I would have agreed with both you and Eli than it was either Leddy or Pizzaman exiting stage right. Now I'm of the mind it's going to be a lower level forward or two. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't forward in the deep end of the Rockford pool? |

There are two real defense prospects and Morin, Regin, Nordy and TT in front. Looks pretty good all around other than goal. |

A pick for sure. Might depend on how he does in the rest of the playoffs. |

Rozy won't return much at his age but i do value his presence and contributions HIGHLY
And I want Versteeg gone after this year. Seen enough of him to last a lifetime.

EK could speak to that better...but i like the forwards in the cupboard for the most part.
Hoping Ross will emerge as a darkhorse at camp next year. Really like that lad.

Creating cap space would be the #1 priority. But I'm sure Stan could get a could mid-round draft picks or a mid-level prospect. I'd rather keep Steeger if possible but realize he could be replaced by younger talent.
Trading #32 would make the most sense, that frees up a lot of space and we lose a part time defenseman (albeit a very good one).
Either way, I have no doubt Stan has thought of all the possibilities and has several back-up plans. |

Quite far he has fallen. Half his contract is taken care of by Florida and the Hawks would just look to get the rest off the books |

if Leddy steps up, would you consider moving Oduya with the bigger cap hit over Rozsival? |

that is the decision as I see it right now...morin vs steeg....
Morin is RFA. Somebody with salary has to go: 4 mil of cap space and and about 6 positions to fill.
Smith and Rannta also RFA |
