Clean hit, unfortunate result. Guys are gonna get hit and that guy is a big meatball who is good at it. Objectivity is important, try not to let your fandom supersede your vision. - Sandus

Crawford has been the mvp of the playoffs so far, to me. And that isn't good. The way this team is set with all the talent and depth the goalie shouldn't even get a star on most nights. But so far in the playoffs and even against boston last year Crawford was usually the 1st or 2nd star imo. Most of them were bad yesterday. I hope for a better effort tomorrow Afternoon. I hate those games - tomcat24
If your goalie isn't one of the three stars - IN THE PLAY-OFFS - I'm not sure you can go very deep.

While Bollig had what 7 hits he also had one horrid turnover. Would rather see Morin out there. As mentioned Q will keep him in there, so he needs to start getting to Stoner.
Hawks looked sloppy for sure at times last night as they always seem to start a series slow.
Concerned about Shaw - although Q said he's (day to day) in the post presser. Shaw's the only guy on this team that will go to the net. Although playoff Bickell is really rounding into form (4 goals already).
Wonder if Steeger is still in the doghouse or if it was something else last night?
Craw to the rescue again with another 17 shot second period for the opposition. - DK002
Playoff Bickell has been going to the net often...Smitty goes to the net all the time, as does Toews...So I think the Hawks should be ok in that sense

Your goalie has to be very good and make the saves he needs to, but Crawford has really been bailing us out. Niemi was great against the Sharks but in all the other series in 2010 he just did what he needed to do. Guys like Toews, Kane, Buff, Keith, Bolland and a few others were ahead of Niemi. Of course Crawford really EARNED the conn smythe last year, though. I just don't want to keep seeing our goalie as the clear-cut MVP |

I love seeing "playoff" Bickell on the 2nd PP unit. |

>>>Were it not for Crawford and Kane's heroics, the outcome of this one would have been different. Minnesota outshot the Hawks 32-22 and took over the game for long stretches.. - bogiedoc
Were it not for a lucky bounce Stoner's goal probably wouldn't have happened etc etc etc....C'mon...You are making it sound like Kaner scoring that type of goal or Crow playing good in net is an aberration...The Hawks have a few guys with top end talent...so be it...sometimes they will bail the team out, sometimes it will be the lower lines dominating, sometimes the goalie, and sometimes the superstars...fine by me as long as they win |

Bad calls tend to even themselves out over time. I guarantee the Hawks will be the recipient of one of those 'intent to blow the whistle calls' and we'll be happy the call went the Hawks way. - paulr
Seems like it is a 2nd round of the playoffs thing...how many goals were waved off last year during the Detroit series? |

Never as good as you are on your best night, and never as bad as you are on your worst night.
Bollig taking more heat than he deserves. It was one turnover, plus he scored a goal. - Ogilthorpe2
Agreed...he may be in a bit of a slump...sitting him for one game so he can become refocused should be on the table. |

Me too...the mere fact that he is in front of the other team's goalie causes enough disruption to allow for the stick handlers to make easier passes and get more pucks to the front of the net |

depends which way the wind is blowing around these parts....
he has outplayed such goalie legends as Howard, Quick, Rask, Miller and I think he will outplay whoever the Wild skate out there.... |

Howard is a legend? He's a middle tier goalie, far beneath Rask, Miller, or Quick. |

Try not to let your bad vision supercede your objectivity.
Stoner launched himself clearly off his skates (supposedly, not allowed), didn't get Shaw's head because Shaw's head was moving slightly away from the hit.
These kinds of hits are what the league says it is trying to eliminate, regardless of the resulting injury. - StLBravesFan
