It's going to be funny to see the look on Vinny's face when Peyton tries to bend him over to go 'under center'. He's going to be begging Chief to put him back on the wing.

I am not saying he is a failure at all, What I am saying is that if those are his tendencies, and if a number 1 defenseman is available this year and we have to package him up it may be a good time to do it.

I love his D but he is a slow skater

I think he had a ozone% of like 20%. For every 1 offensive zone start he had 4 defensive zone starts.

Now factor in the amount of time he spent against the NYR top line, on the PK, which people seem to ignore, and the lack of PP time.

- PhillySportsGuy

Depite that kind of usage, his line was still our second-best in terms of driving play. Maybe that had more to do with Art Ross than anything, but still pretty incredible.

Lines 2 and 4 were just god awful. Line 2 w/ VL was a singularity of suck.

He is really slow. He is learning to hold the puck well though. Jagr had an impressive influence on some of our guys.

great work all season long, bill, as always. thank you.

if mason had been healthy the whole series, and if the flyers had home ice, i think they win the series. losing mason for 3 games and playing a game 7 on the road was too much against this particular team.

the flyers have a lot of good pieces, unfortunately their scoring depth ran dry and it had very little to do with the goaltending on the rangers end. the flyers have a goalie, and that perhaps is the most encouraging aspect of this entire season.

they need some speed and skill on the back end and on the wings. where and how they get it, if at all, remains to be seen.

Morin's name is carved in stone.

Hagg's name is in pencil.

Lauridsen's name is in invisible ink.

I actually think Alt will get the best chance to make the team out of camp ahead of all of them. He had a really solid season in the AHL.

Alt and Akeson in the initial roster would help a lot with the salary cap, too.

Definitely the most sensible move, and made more possible if Luke Schenn can rediscover his 2012-13 self over the summer and move up in the pairings.

I personally don't want to see any of the newly (and not yet) minted pros in the lineup at all, for at least 12-24 months... I don't care how convincing they look in camp.

What type of creativity will Holmgren use to find a way to get rid of sunk costs in Hartnell, Lecavalier, and Grossmann?

Yeah. That line wasn't a problem. The Flyers had to do so much juggling whereas the Rangers just rolled 4 lines.

The Flyers were able to roll the 2nd line a lot more when they switch VL out for Hartnell.

Kadri and Stepan both had 18G/25A/44P
Schenn had 20G/21A/41P

Not a big difference.

- jmatchett383

Kadri and Stepan scored 44 points in 48 games before signing their RFA contracts.

Brayden just took 82 games to score 41.

I think a very strong case can be made for it, I don't think Snider will do it though.

Does Grossmann undergoing the knife yet again, make his already non-existent trade value go down?

Just to be free of the contracts I would trade Lecavalier, Hartnell, and Grossmann for 7th round picks.

Definitely doesn't help his value.

As far as Lecavalier, I still want to see another year out of him. Let him rest up this offseason and see what he brings during camp/pre-season and then make a decision.

Grossmann doesn't have a full NMC, so I think he can be moved pretty easily if another team wants him. I don't think this ankle injury will affect his value since it doesn't seem too serious and it isn't a re occurrence of his knee and head issues.
