Won't matter. Unless he signs for cheap i think he's as good as gone.
This series couldn't have helped him at all in negotiations. - Flyersgod
That wasn't the context of what I was talking about. I must be missing something. It's ok |

When I was watching Dallas this playoffs I wondered what Giroux would be able to do with Jamie Benn... - eayost
Benn is a beast. But Giroux didn't back down from Crosby or Malkin. Giroux is not a wallflower. I don't know where this Giroux hate is coming from. He's come up big for this team many, many times. He's one of the elite players in this league. Flyers need a few more pieces, mainly on D, now that Mason has his mojo back. |

Because Pittsburgh will actually fight. The Rangers talk and then their players run away and whine. Look at Dorsett, wants no part of Simmer or Luke Schenn, goes after Andy Macdonald. Mason plays this whole series, Flyers would have won in 6. - Flyers1218
i dont want the pens to fight. (frank) them. just keep firing shots. play controlled. dont get frustrated. theyre gonna block a third of your attempts. dont let it force you into overcompensating. |

Did Crosby step up in the last penguins game? No. Malkin did, in fact he scored a hatty, and they still almost blew that game.
Giroux created 3 awesome chances out of nothing, in the third period alone. Sometimes you need secondary scoring to show up. They didn't do a good enough job of getting 2nd chance opportunities, there were rebounds galore all series long.
But you're right, they lost and he's useless and logic and observations are (frank)ing pointless. - fecondo

They went 7 games against the best goalie in the league, with the offense sputtering. There was no "exposing". - steelydan
I would take Tukka Rask over Lundqvist this year without question.

would be acceptable if giroux was playing the next round like crosby - watsonnostaw
Because it's girouxs fault they lost?
Or it's because of Crosby the penguins advanced?
I don't understand the point you're trying to make (blame the alcohol) |

If anything, this series proved that they need a no. 1 d-man, and if it means sending a huge package to a team with schenn/couturier/whatever the hell you want to send for their young no. 1 becuase you don't want to wait and "win now" than nut up and do it |

No I'm totally with you. I think he'd be even better with another upper echelon piece along side him, like a lot of the other top players in the NHL have. We have a passer without a real shooter. We want Giroux to do both at the same time somehow |

Gross/Schenn/Coburn all with 2 more years left. I don't understand what you're even saying. All three get traded?
Ghost might make his way up if they trade Gross. Otherwise, he's in the AHL all year.

im not one to condemn giroux for this series. and you cant simply equate goals with leadership. but thats not exactly relevant. |

They went 7 games against the best goalie in the league, with the offense sputtering. There was no "exposing". If they took this series in 7, they would've moved on to their favorable matchup, the Pens.
The only thing an early exit does is inspires Snider to force Homer's hand in FA. Look for the Flyers to target a power forward and overpay. Winning wouldn't have stunted anything with this org... - steelydan
They took this 7 games in spite of all that. Not because of all that. Mason stole 1 game cleanly. Held the Flyers in game 6 while they tried to locate their game. Emery held them in Game 2.
They went 7 games, but they didn't deserve to make it to game 5. |

Debatable. Either way, he's an elite goalie and it showed. He didn't have to bring his A-game because the Flyers floated perimeter shots 50% of the time, but that doesn't negate the fact that he's elite. |

I like Coburn. But lets be honest here. He's been here for a long, long time. He's also turning 30 next season. |
