Coburn had a TERRIBLE series. So bad that i really would trade him. If a team can't complete a pass, is that on the coach or the players alone? - Flyersgod
Coburn was fine. He was getting tasked with too much down the stretch, mainly because Timonen wasnt Timonen anymore. |

I thought Streit was the best dman in this series, and really the best dman all year long. Its going to be an interesting summer - Just5
Yeah he may have been.
Coburn was terrible this series. And honestly, who pays their top pairing dman 4.5mil a year to not put up points? Or play powerplay?
Coburn had such a rocket of a shot when he first got here. Then he was turned into Derian Hatcher. |

And Read and Cooter on the PK were dominant. 21 straight kills or whatever. |

Meh, Richards and St.Louis each had 2G 4A same as Giroux. Nash less than that.
If you don't want Giroux, who do you want? Thornton? Marleau? can't have a Toews on every team. Giroux is closer to Toews than he is to 3/4 of the other captains in the league. - rockychocbill

most of the time he and coburn were being pinned down in their zone. - the deaninator
Yeah, maybe not the best pairing anymore. Although have had their fair share of good moments in the past. I'm not gonna rag on either of them. |

All those guys have another top player on their team that takes pressure off the other. Voracek is nice, but you're talking about Thornton/Marleau, Crosby/Malkin, Toews/Kane, Benn/Seguin, etc... Jake would be the weakest link there. |

Does Brayden get a pass on this series? 0G, 3A. That's not good enough from your 2nd line center is it? - rockychocbill
not at all. he should have been better.
i liked this series bc the rangers really uncovered the stink on this team. |

Well I will be rooting for the rags over the pens. Just can't get past Crysby, Malikin, Neal, and bat face, oh and flower. Man I hate that team. |

I wanted them to win, but i really feared if they won they'd think they deserved it and not change anything. Winning this series would have set us back.
Turns out losing this series exposed way too many flaws then i was ready to deal with. |

Won't matter. Unless he signs for cheap i think he's as good as gone.
This series couldn't have helped him at all in negotiations. |

Did Crosby step up in the last penguins game? No. Malkin did, in fact he scored a hatty, and they still almost blew that game.
Giroux created 3 awesome chances out of nothing, in the third period alone. Sometimes you need secondary scoring to show up. They didn't do a good enough job of getting 2nd chance opportunities, there were rebounds galore all series long.
But you're right, they lost and he's useless and logic and observations are (frank)ing pointless. |

I'm starting to worry that because Couturier is constantly matched up against other teams top lines, and the fact he's asked to be the teams top PK forward it's going to stunt his offense.
He had zero points in the series. - PLindbergh31
He's a 21 year old 40 point scorer who's doing nothing but growing. I wouldn't worry about it. |

They went 7 games against the best goalie in the league, with the offense sputtering. There was no "exposing". If they took this series in 7, they would've moved on to their favorable matchup, the Pens.
The only thing an early exit does is inspires Snider to force Homer's hand in FA. Look for the Flyers to target a power forward and overpay. Winning wouldn't have stunted anything with this org... |
