I hope he does, but i doubt he's top pairing material with his size. Timonen was a pretty big guy (muscular) through out his career.

I'm going to go to the Philly draft this summer and Boo anyone they draft. Just to be that guy.

- Flyersgod

I don't care what pair he plays on if he can move the puck well and kill it on the PP eventually

Oh crap? After two games?? I'd trade him. As for Couts "no-showing"... Nash had no goals. Tough to expect a ton out of him offensively when he's basically not allowed to leave the defensive zone.
- Flyers1218

The problem in using that is Couturier was bad defensively also.
Failed clear on the Carcillo goal tonight, horrible turn overs last night.
Not a good series for him.

How does Timonen go the whole series with just 1 assist? Wow.

And Couterier had 19:35 avg TOI and was pointless. I know he's a checker now, but still.

Ghost is gonna bring it. I'm very excited about him
- eayost

You guys are making me nervous. He will light it up for a 1/3 of the AHL season and then we will bring him in and ...is that the human sacrifice being talked about here?

Was shoved down our throats all series long.

The first time real adjustments came was game 6.

- flyer_nutter

Vinny was barely used all series. 7 minutes in game 1. 9 minutes in game 2.

Schenn had a lot more ice time with other linemates and stunk.

Does Brayden get a pass on this series? 0G, 3A. That's not good enough from your 2nd line center is it?
- rockychocbill

Not a pass...fair criticism is what it is. They lost, so everybody will get looked at.

For me, though, I would see if there's a playmaking winger out there who fits under the cap before I butcher him...that second line was a nightmare most of the season at even strength, but they might have to look outside for a remedy

I'm sure he had lots of time to acclimate to his new teammates and system

he needs a season in the AHL

Coburn was the best Flyers d man.

Schenn was solid in his lesser minutes role. He did 'play' with the puck too much and is still struggling with moving the puck quickly and effectively.

- Pixote Andolini

I thought Streit was the best dman in this series, and really the best dman all year long. Its going to be an interesting summer

I'm starting to worry that because Couturier is constantly matched up against other teams top lines, and the fact he's asked to be the teams top PK forward it's going to stunt his offense.

He had zero points in the series.

most of the time he and coburn were being pinned down in their zone.

Playing the kid game after game since he has entered the league against the best forwards of the other team will give him the opportunity to grow his offensive game.

Shut them down, and score kid!

I think it's fair to say, had Mason played all series they would have won this in 6.
- Flyers1218

thats not fair at all actually. I dont care when about goaltending when you are preety much continuously getting outplayed 5 v 5

Sorry for ranting( venting) just sooooo pissed because the lack of effort makes me ill. That's just something I can't live with. That screams to me it's ok from the top ( snider) because cup winning teams ( devils, red wings) would ship those type players out in a heartbeat. Not us. We celebrate them. Drives me nuts

I thought though as well, and wondered why the hell he wasn't on the first PP unit when Timmonen was being his usual wait for the perfect shot self.

To clarify, I don't know if he plays for the Flyers next year or not. But I think he'll turn into a real player at some point. I'm not predicting a Calder trophy or anything.

I'd only be concerned if he looked like Hartnell did offensively. He has the instincts and the possession skills, just hasn't put it together yet. He's going up against the best in the NHL. Let's see how he's doing in a couple of years.

take away an empty net and the captain scores 1 goal... not much leadership there

Meh, Richards and St.Louis each had 2G 4A same as Giroux. Nash less than that.

If you don't want Giroux, who do you want? Thornton? Marleau? can't have a Toews on every team. Giroux is closer to Toews than he is to 3/4 of the other captains in the league.

They didn't lose because of goaltending from either Mason or Emery.

When you have 5-6 black holes on offense that is why they lost.
As good as Mason played tonight their offense failed them.

He was given more offensive responsibilities last season and struggled iirc.

Gus is a step in the right direction at least.
His wheels were obvious, in comparison to the rest of the defense corp.

- the deaninator

The most games he has ever played is 30. I would just like to see him play at least a season before we give up on him. He certainly looked a lot better than Timo.

Don't disagree, but Rick Nash is no effing joke in the offensive zone. Taking the puck off,him isn't an easy thing to,do
