- Adam_The_Golf

All expect them to what?

my favorite Flyers moment was when that fat slob of a fan came over the glass at Tie Domi and got filled in for his trouble . that was EPIC

Gotta agree there, tubby got more than he bargained for and we all got a great laugh.

I agree ... I wasn't looking to say that Philly fans are innocent.

there are idiots out there in EVERY fan base.

- FlyerGuy

Taking children to any sporting event is a gamble because you often have the energy of the competition and the aggression of alcohol mixed with the zealotry of fans locked into a herd mentality...

A recipe that can bring out the worst in a lot of people.

Couturier had some horrible turnovers last night. We need better from him if we are going to win tonight.

You root for the Florida Panthers? Even people living in Florida dont root for the Panthers. Even the guy that lives next to the stadium, works every game as the zamboni driver, doesnt root for the Panthers.

He did embellish it. On the flip side, on a play where Voracek clearly got grabbed but fought through it, there was no call. The latter is what should draw penalties.
- bmeltzer

This is going to be extremely semantical.. but I look at embellishment as a situation where a guy is primarily trying to draw a penalty. Darcy Tucker was a king of this. Dorsett has been very "good" at it this series. Its where a penalty would not normally be called, but thanks to the theatrics it is noticed by the official and called.

Then there is selling a penalty, which seems to happen all of the time.

Heres is the difference (in my eyes).

Giroux sold his penalty on Pouillot...

Dorsett embellished his high sticking call against Gus.

Again.. some people are gonna roll your eyes, but thats how I see it.

I hate them , I have hated them for years , I will always hate them.

my favorite Flyers moment was when that fat slob of a fan came over the glass at Tie Domi and got filled in for his trouble . that was EPIC

I don't dislike all the players Giroux is solid so is Simmonds , although I will always find it hard to cheer for them because of the team they play for

LETS GO RANGERS !

- Adam_The_Golf

Man what happened.

You still ticked that Sittler wanted out of that cesspool that is Toronto to come to Philly?

Or was it the Flyers kicking Leaf butt in both 75 and 76?

Or was it watching Roenick crush yet another of your hopeless dreams?

Perhaps, its just the fact that your home team has been a joke for a decade now.

The Clarkson deal??

Hear that giggling sound? That's the sound of Habs fans laughing at you.

GO FLYERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
RANGERS and LEAFS SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

brayden schenn? really?
- -davies-

Yeah I don't get the Brayden Schenn thing either. If anything, he takes too many huge hits because he doesn't embellish.

Hartnell is a pest but he isn't any dirtier than any other normal player.

We aren't talking Matt Cooke, Sean Avery, Darcy Tucker territory here.

As for the Rangers, except for Carcillo I don't really think they havve any blatantly dirty players either.

I have no respect for Domi for the same reason every other Flyer fan doesn't (Adam Burt), but that was hilarious and I loved watching that drunkard get pounded on. He absolutely deserved it.

If Couts isn't going to do anything offensively, he needs to be a rock on D, and no poopty backhand passes that lead to a Rangers player point-blank in front of Mason.

I'm pretty sure the panthers players keep muttering to themselves: "nice weather, chicks in bikinis. Nice weather, chicks in bikinis" It's all the poor guys got!

I always keep it in perspective -- they aren't machines, you know? Some games just aren't going to make the highlight reel.

I don't have a feel for what's going to happen tonight; too many variables, with regard to penalties and nerves, since the Flyers still have a somewhat young team in spots. Our goalie, one of the defense pairs...it's their first Game 7.

But like Marc said earlier: I'm proud of this team, no matter the outcome. They needed to make the playoffs to progress as a core, but they're still an unfinished product, and to me, they're playing with house money for the rest of the playoffs if they win tonight, since the Rags are maybe the worst matchup they could've drawn in the first round, based on roster composition.

I agree 100%. I made the point earlier that if the opposition is going to embellish to their advantage. Then you're at a disadvantage if you don't do the same. It's what the game has come to these days. Like the high stick call against Gustafsson.
