Believe it or not, I wanted the Pens/Flyers blood bath very badly, how are you guys reacting to Giroux standing at center ice laughing with 2 seconds left, that would not have sat well with me at all if I were a Flyers fan. - nbartley9
I understand why he's laughing. The refs (frank)ed that whole situation up. Either it's icing and the flyers start in the o zone, or it's not, and the games over there. Terribly handled by the refs. |

I don't think Akeson figured into most people's plans, but now you have to figure he is now a strong shot to stick with the team.
I'm pissed they lost and that they really didn't pal a great series, but after the start things could have been worse.
Have to feel good about Mason. Still think G needs to be a better leader. - LJF
I like the kid, but we're getting dangerously small up front. They can't win board battles for their lives as it is.
I like Akeson. But something needs to be done with the forward line up.
4 Flyer players had 0 points. Coots, Rinaldo, Grossman and Gill.
Voracek was the best forward every game. Simmonds was terrible in every game but game 6. Giroux was a no show except for pieces of games here and there. |

Vinny played less than 9 minutes tonight. Should be interesting next year. - feelingkettle
Not a good year for him, but let's see what happens with letting his body heal for next season, |

at least 3 defensemen will not be here next year.
Hartnell (hopefully) played his last game today as well. - the deaninator
We've used both buyouts.. Hartnell has a NMC, so he can't be demoted to the A.. I have zero idea how you get rid of guys if you want to. |

The positive is the Flyers can win with Steve Mason.
The negative is there should be zero confidence in Holmgren surrounding him with the right personnel. - PLindbergh31
Nonsense.
He gave up a 2nd and 3rd for a fart at the playoffs, when he could have overpaid for MacDonald in the off-season.
In Homer I trust. |

I've watched a lot of the first round, and I honestly think this was the most poorly played series in the playoffs so far - eayost
It was...the Blues spit the bit badly against Chicago those last four games, and Columbus-Pitt was close, but it's fair to say what you did |

You can buy him out. And suffer the cap penalty.
Yeah it sucks, but you can easily replace him |

Imo a big thing this series, was about hiding players.
The Flyers had to continuously hide that fourth line, and LeCavalier in general.
Far too many of those d-men have to be "protected".
That's inexcusable. |

I liked the job Holmgren did early on, but it would be refreshing to get someone new in there with some fresh ideas ....maybe we'll get lucky and Vinny will want out, considering he couldn't beat out a guy who was parked in the AHL all year when it mattered.

That is my thought too. I think it will turn out he was pretty banged up with the back thing. I hope that was the reason. I cant take 4 more years of that.

The thing that really bothers me is the lack of effort this series. This team didn't play all that well and still took the Rags to game 7 and came close. They have the goalie, now a few changes and more consistent effort and this will be one hell of a team. |

Yet he lead the team in points.
My issue isn't with him when their are so many other black holes on this team..
1. Hartnell , Couturier, Raffl, VL, Rinaldo, Hall did nothing at all.
2. Streit and L. Schenn were the only d that played worth anything this series. |
