Took this from the Rangers thread:

Giroux has been getting the Crosby treatment for sure. Hopefully if all hails true the refs will put the whistles away in game 7. I like the Rangers 5 on 5, but if the game goes to special teams they have no chance

Does he mean to say that Giroux has been getting raped and mugged at any chance this series without calls or is he complaining that superstars who possess the puck more draw more penalties?

Let's go FRlaynegresrs

- Tiogadog

That's hilarious, considering the Broadway level acting that the Rangers have given us all in the series. How many embellishment penalties have the Rangers been called for?

One more time, Mason...just like last night.

Need more from Couts.

Need better passes, especially to open the game.

And we definitely need more diving and head-whips from the little broadway actress Diana Dorsett.

God I can't stand that guy!!

Are people thinking G dove on that on that Pouliot drive-by last night that sent him to the ice?

Cause I don't.

- wolfhounds

If Pouliot doesn't have his free hand around Giroux, he likely doesn't get called.

I was hanging out on the Rangers thread ... and, yeah, there were a couple of guys who thought that was good acting. Most thought it was just a bad penalty, though.

It was completely unnecessary by Pouliot .

I think they had at least 2 in one game earlier in the series and Dorsett got one last night for embellishing after Hartnell cross-checked him into Mason.

Ranger fans are complaining a lot about Giroux diving, or how they can't touch him without getting a penalty called.

The diving part has some merit. A lot of guys on both teams are embellishing their butts off to draw some calls.

- FlyerGuy

Normally I don't like that kind of stuff. But Bill Clement said it best. The refs don't make the calls, the players do. The refs just react to the players. And if the other team is going to embellish to their advantage, you're at a disadvantage if you don't do the same. It's just the way the League is now.

In my view, Giroux absolutely embellished it. But it was a penalty. I'd normally like to see that kind of stuff let go, but just call it consistently if it's going to be called.

I'm sure the Rangers fans were completely innocent of anything, like mouthing off, and it was all completely the fault of those rowdy Flyers fans. Cause we all know there's no violence in or around NY.

1. Safe to assume that was at the game last night?

2. When will people learn that vertical video sucks?

Tonight they need to play three periods as they did the second period last night. Play like they did in the first or third and they'll be toast.

And of course Mason needs to continue to be on.

- Scoob

I think if Mason bails them out once or twice early, they will continue to play loose and confidently knowing they can take chances and their goalie will bail them out if necessary. It is is great feeling to have.

GET THAT FIRST GOAL! I cant stress how important this is.

Keys for a Flyers win tonight:

1. Keep the pressure on the Rangers D
Girardi was not the same last night after blocking that Giroux shot and McDonagh is playing hurt. Hit the 2 of them hard and often!

2. Score first
While the Flyers can come back with the best of them, it's much better to score the first goal. Take the crowd out of the game and force the Rangers to open things up.

3. Shorten the bench
Yes, you are playing back to back, and guess what? So are the Rangers? Get your best players on the ice as much as possible and dictate the pace of the game.

4. Have BiggE watch the game in a bar
DONE!!

GO FLYERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't looked at it since last night. I didn't think he embellished. The ranger grabbed Giroux around the head. Common sense says you move with the grab/punch.

Either way, it doesn't matter. Pouliot should of never of even touched Giroux up high like that. The refs have caught on to all the crap they've been doing to Giroux all series.
