If they play like they did last night, primarily Mason... They can take this game.
The Rangers showed they do have some fight in them during that 3rd yesterday, so I am expecting the best out of both teams.
I'd love for them to take it and leave that Ranger crowd stunned. - flyer_nutter
The Flyers pretty much took their foot off the gas in the 3rd, so I personally don't place a lot of value in anything the Rangers did in the 3rd period. The game was over, and the Flyers knew it. Time to conserve energy for the quick turnaround in game 7.

Thats my thinking... Also, we dont have stats for Mason game 7's. Maybe it starts off with:
games played 1
goals against 0.00
Save % 100

They need to play the first period of tonights game the way they did the second period of last nights game. They do that and they will win. |

With out researching the last two games 7's I can think of were both away. We won both.
Boston in the epic comeback.
Caps in the Capital. |

I agree. They showed what they're capable of in that 2nd period. |

Not sure how many game 7's they've played since 2004. It might only be 2. Have to go back and check. |

yea, but that has only been 3 games. Caps in OT, the amazing comeback against the Bruins, and the lackluster series against the Sabres in 2011

I am pretty sure this is correct. I believe they're 3-0 since then.
And please don't jinx us. |

Another interesting stat about Flyers game 7s from flyers.nhl.com
"This is the third time that the Flyers have played a Game 7 in which they played Game 6 the night before - they won both of the previous games (2008 ECQF at Washington & 2003 ECQF vs. Toronto)." |

That is interesting. I think you can throw it out the window. How many Flyers on the current team played in the 2008 game? Coburn, Hartnell and Timonen. Giroux played a handful of games that year but none in the playoffs.
Does Downie count? |

I get your point, but I don't like that they did it. By pulling Lundqvist they officially conceded the game, but the Flyers still should've kept playing hard imho. |

The reason why they shouldn't have, in my opinion, is the same reason why the Rangers pulled Lundqvist. The game was already decided. Why expend that energy at that point. If you don't have anything left in the tank for game 7, what difference does it make that you won game 6?
And that leads me to what I think is one of the keys to tonight's game. Flyers need to get on Girardi and McDonagh. I think they're banged up and worn down.
