man, game 7 didn't look too likely a few times in this series, but just like they have all year, the Flyers proved to be a resilient bunch.

Out of curiosity, have the Flyers ever had a game 7 OT? I think that may happen tonight.

I remember fans throwing poop at them - pizza boxes, beer bottles......

What a win that was - that was awesome.

I thought Vinny was beyond awful last night. I was expecting him to step up.

For this team's sake, I hope his back is still broken or something.

Took this from the Rangers thread:

Giroux has been getting the Crosby treatment for sure. Hopefully if all hails true the refs will put the whistles away in game 7. I like the Rangers 5 on 5, but if the game goes to special teams they have no chance

Does he mean to say that Giroux has been getting raped and mugged at any chance this series without calls or is he complaining that superstars who possess the puck more draw more penalties?

The Flyers beat the Rangers 4-3 on May 5, 1974, in the only other time the teams played a Game 7. They went on to beat Boston to win their first Stanley Cup.

Forget about the outcome for a second, the effort was great! Everyone from giroux to rinaldo played their A game! It took 5 games but hopefully they do it again tonight! Getting CSP pulled...priceless!

I think he was referring to the calls. I feel the calls have been justified. The refs were missing those calls early in the series. They have paid closer attention to Giroux because the Rangers have been hunting him.

Edit: I'm sorry to hear about your speech impediment

Stats are irrelevant.

MSG is irrelevant.

Everything is irrelevant except winning.

I actually remember listening to that series on 610 AM radio (which shows how old I am lol). It was incredibly exciting ... and I believe the Flyers were big underdogs.

Gene Hart was an artist in the theater of the mind.

Both statements are true. Especially the second half. And superstars take advantage of that by milking calls. Giroux sells those little hooks with the best of em, don't get me wrong.

He's also been getting raped and mugged with, for the most part, the Rangers getting away with it. The officiating has been piss poor for both teams.

Ranger fans are complaining a lot about Giroux diving, or how they can't touch him without getting a penalty called.

The diving part has some merit. A lot of guys on both teams are embellishing their butts off to draw some calls.

He looked frustrated, maybe he comes up with the big one tonight. I didn't think Couturier played his usual game, had a few turnovers. I would like to see him on the score sheet as we'll!

One more time, Mason...just like last night.

Need more from Couts.

Need better passes, especially to open the game.

And we definitely need more diving and head-whips from the little broadway actress Diana Dorsett.

They need two things tonight.

1. They need to come out like last nights game never ended and get the first goal.
2. They need Mason to make a stellar save or two early in the game to get their confidence to peak level.

If these two things happen they will win the game.

- MBFlyerfan

Tonight they need to play three periods as they did the second period last night. Play like they did in the first or third and they'll be toast.

And of course Mason needs to continue to be on.

There's a difference- I like to think- with how the Rangers are flopping like Uhlane Vinyuln teaches them every 7 minutes of the game and your typical "I'm gonna stumble here to get this hooking call for my team" that we "normally" see in the NHL by top flight guys.

In one of those situations, you're a (frank)ing wussy and a disgrace. The other one, you're just trying to win.
