I think Rooney might be the worst ref in the current lot. I'd rather have Kelly Sutherland, personally.
- Doc_Sarcasm

As soon as the stats are updated for Rooney i'll post them.

The guy is a train wreck. He's the Lohan of Referee's.

Exactly! My family is STH so we know a lot of the people in our row, but the 2 seats behind me are never the same people. At a Penguins game last year, a few fans in my row started talking smack to them and getting in their faces because they accused them of cheering when a Flyer got hurt (which they did not do). I had to step in and defend the Penguins fans. I didn't know whether to be proud or disappointed in myself

Edit: These 2 Penguins fans sat there all game, stood up and cheered when the Pens scored, and otherwise kept to themselves. I did hear them ripping on the Penguins to each other quite a bit, but never once did they act out of line.

- five4fighting10

My experience has been, with the notable exception of 3/26/14, that if I go to the other arena and don't rag on the other team, don't whine about the officiating, and don't overdo my celebrations of my team's successes there's no issue. I know what annoys me in a visiting fan neighbor, so I just avoid those things. I don't think standing and cheering as a visiting fan is really a good idea. It goes from celebration to taunting in about a heartbeat.

You're probably right. One or both will choke big time, sealing the win for the flyers.

According to ESPN's box score from Monday night, Paul Devorski was both refs and Jay Sharrers was both linesmen in the Minn/Colo. game.

I think its more likely to be Nash if its anyone.

To be honest, their top line has been great this whole series. They've dominated the Flyers in 5v5 play. I really want to see angry Coburn tonight. They need him to step up and play a good game.

He did embellish it. On the flip side, on a play where Voracek clearly got grabbed but fought through it, there was no call. The latter is what should draw penalties.
- bmeltzer

speaking of embellishment....did gus hit on dorsett actually make contact with his face? I think clement's comments were said after that replay where it looked like the stick missed him; the ranger's thread folk are saying it clearly hit him in the face....was there a different angle on that play I didn't see?

I was also never a fan of Stephen Walkom's style of officiating.. if you can call forgetting to bring your whistle out onto the ice with you a style. But, if there was ever a night were you didnt want too many things called, this is it. (edit) Its bad when I start getting nostalgic for one of my least favorite refs ever.

When I start saying nice things about Terry Gregson, shoot me.

Its always nice when you turn on the game and see the line up you suggest on some random forums to be the one on the ice. Hartnell actually seems to bring a nice presence to that second line. I liked it a lot.

Need G to keep drawing these penalties tonight and we got this game. And if they stop taking these penalties it will open up some space for G and probably have the same result.

Flyers got this. Bring the intensity and its game over!

I disagree about the putting the whistle away, since mostly the way it has played out in this series is that (for the most part), the whistle has been put away when the Rangers commit a penalty and blown vociferously when the flyers might possibly be thinking about doing something slightly shady.

The interference and tackling the rangers get away with is mind boggling.
