I always keep it in perspective -- they aren't machines, you know? Some games just aren't going to make the highlight reel.

I don't have a feel for what's going to happen tonight; too many variables, with regard to penalties and nerves, since the Flyers still have a somewhat young team in spots. Our goalie, one of the defense pairs...it's their first Game 7.

But like Marc said earlier: I'm proud of this team, no matter the outcome. They needed to make the playoffs to progress as a core, but they're still an unfinished product, and to me, they're playing with house money for the rest of the playoffs if they win tonight, since the Rags are maybe the worst matchup they could've drawn in the first round, based on roster composition.

what about the 4 million signing bonus?

you signed him for 5 years @ 22.5 million add the signing bonuses and that number jumps to 35.5 million

so on average with the bonuses included you are paying a 4th line player 7.1 million per year

- Adam_The_Golf

His base salary + bonus for this season = $6M.

But according to your math, he's making $40M... $2M/per goal x 20 goals.

All a signing bonus is, is part of a player's salary paid up front. It is not in addition to his regular salary. So for example this year, the Flyers had to pay Lecavalier, 4M of his 6M salary up front. Next Season, on July 1, the Flyers will have to pay 2M of his 6M salary up front. And will owe him the balance of 4M in his regular paychecks during the season.

No my friend had a boat and we'd go out at night to fish sometimes. Its really nice because no one else is on the water. You don't have to worry about drifting into another boat or dbags flying by in jet skis.

It's ok, the maple laffs are paying their entire roster 65 million dollars to play golf, so I'm not too worried about lecavlier's cap hit or salary LOL

The 4 million signing bonus is reflected in the 6 million total Vinny gets paid this season, it's up front money. They paid him 2 million the rest of the season after forking over 4 million up front. I asked my 8 year old son if he understands this basic math, and he does. You?

You need to divide 6 million (Vinny's salary this year) by his 20 goals, to get the correct math on how much per goal we paid him. The correct math results were posted above, and it is not 2 million per goal.

We may or may not win Game 7 tonight, but dumbass trolls like yourself are a reminder of how some teams get the karma they deserve, even when they do make the playoffs once in a decade. Hopefully we don't blow a 4-1 lead late in the 3rd tonight

Why are you going on about VL. The Leafs wanted him badly. You still don't even have a number one Centre. Or are still upset about getting no show Kessel for the cost of Seguin and Hamilton. I didn't even want to mention Rask.
Poor management is a history with this team

Personally, I'm not going to get involved in the mudslinging back and forth. Both players were signed to long term deals. The outcome of those deals is not decided after one season. Lot's of factors can combine to make one year a bad year. Injuries for example, can really affect a player. Both Clarkson and Lecavalier are good proven players in this league. Next year could be a whole lot different. In Lecavalier's case, he scored 20 goals, but was affected by a major injury and a position change. Otherwise, he was looking at a 25-30 goal season for the Flyers. He hasn't played well for the Flyers in this series, and that is disappointing to this point. But that can change quickly.

A signing bonus can be assigned to any individual season within a contract. They can be paid up front on July 1 prior to the league year but can also doled out according to a pre-determined payment schedule that is written into the contract.

are you friends with Vinny? do you know when and where the money is to be paid out and how much at a time ? NO ? then shut it

This is mainly the reason I want the Flyers to win tonight and move on to the 2nd round. Not that I honestly think they have a chance of getting past the EQF (if its the Bruins) or winning the cup... But if they knock the Pens out of the playoffs again, I will be satisfied once again.
