has this start time been set in stone? because yes that would embarrassing indeed. - Fountain-San
no official word from the NHL for Saturday.
NBC probably asked the league for that 12:30 start, and since the deal with CBC and RDS is ending this season for TV rights in Canada (the new 12 year deal with Sportsnet kicks in next season), they probably told them to go (frank) themselves and that NBC will get what they want.
It's a damn shame...I just don't get what the deal is with USA residents and their love for afternoon TV sporting events. |

I hope so, Florek has looked really good, plays well on the PK too... Lots of poise for a rook with not many games under his belt. Caron would slow L3 down I think. |

well it seems like Bs fans hate the start time as well. i don't think it's that they love afternoon events. it's more that NBC will draw better at night with.... well anything other than hockey. |

whoh whoh.. watch the blanket statement. Sat afternoon games suck. even for a sunday that's early. Its one thing during the season, you can take your kid to a game and he's not sleeping in the third, but I like to drink on Fridays, and 12:30 is a wee early for me.

If you scroll ahead on the guide, NBC has the 12:30-4 EST block of time listed as NHL Playoffs teams TBA. (3.5 hrs in case of OT you would assume) And NBCSN has 8:30-11pm EST also TBA.
So it sure appears that they will jam a game in that early slot. |

NBCSN also has 7:30-10pm and 10-12:30am blocked for Friday night.
So I would think if the Wild win tonight, the Hawks host them in that early spot Friday (so NYR/PHI) doesn't have to play 3 games in 4 nights. And then Ducks host the late game.
If Avs win, Pit might host (sorry rags/flyers) on Friday night in early slot and one of the West series gets late slot. 5:30pm would be an awfully early start on a Friday night in Denver same as 4:30pm in Anaheim. |

had to laugh at the article in the Boston paper refering to Emelin as a cheapshot artist and that the Habs are chippy. made it out that Bruins really don't play that type of game. Lucic refering to Emelin as a coward, i guess that goose with his stick on Emelin doesn't count, and then to do it again against Detroit must not count either because he wasn't disciplined. Call a spade a spade both teams will whatever it takes to win this series. They both hate each other so there should be no let downs. All this means is it is great entertainment for us fans.. Go habs Go |

the chippiness and hate exists on both sides. there are no saints here. these two teams genuinely hate each other and that's why it's the best rivalry in the NHL bar none, regardless of what anyone tells you about Anaheim-LA or Philly-Pitt. |

absolutely and there are Montreal writers that basically say the big bad bruins. all great fun. I used to hate Bobby Orr, until he retired, then thought of him as the geatest that ever played still Top 3 for me. |

Tru Dat, familiarity breeds contempt. For me it goes back to that flash in the pan Ken "bleeeping" Dryden. Although, looks like theres a lot of hate with NY/Philly right now. Its good cause its not just the fans, its the players too, and will bring out the best from both team. That said... F> the Habs!!!!

Top three? OK I can listen to the Gretzky argument, although he didnt change the way the game the Orr did, who in the world could be in the same sentence as those two? |

Boston is a way more physical and dirty team than Mtl. They seem to do everything the have to to win hockey games. That being said, the B's are the whinniest team of the league when the get challenged physically. Weird contradiction.
As for Emelin's statement, this is pure bs. If anything, he deserves credit to constantly do what almost no other defensman dare to do. He is not the most solid defensman but he surely brings that physical edge we lack.
I also think that |
