In New York, he had the players but some of them underachieved, especially in goal scoring during the playoffs. In Vancouver, he had a clash of style with his players. But Vancouver was a lost cause, regardless of who took that team over. Their window of opportunity closed and there's nothing anything can do about it other than get ahead on the rebuilding. Kind of like Calgary after they went to the Finals and lost. Many, many years of denial of what they really were until they finally realized it.

He's an bumhole JFJ.

Sorry.

Edit: excuse me, but I assume your a TO fan.

Would you want him in TO?

The Sedins should block MOAR SHOTS!!!
- DrRecchi

Those guys are on the wrong side of 30 to be blocking shots and playing an insane amount of ice time. Should trade them to Detroit which is probably the only place where they would have a chance at the Cup in their golden years that would encourage their style.

No doubt about it but in the right situations, that's advantageous. Quiet market would suit him perfectly at this stage. I'd say Nashville, San Jose, Florida and Washington, in that order, of places he could get a job.

I think that's up to Trevor Linden. He might want to rebuild. If that's the case, I doubt the Sedins or the Red Wings would have a problem accepting them.

Maybe, I don't see him getting another job anytime soon.

These teams may want to promote from within rather than take a chance on that bumhole.

Except Chicago, St. Louis and maybe Anaheim.

Nah, probably would have beat Anaheim.

Maybe Chicago.

St-Louis was not the powerhouse they looked like in the regular season. Like Pittsburgh.

I think the fact that they played Chicago in the playoffs is what made them not look like the powerhouse they were in the regular season. Also, they had a lot of injuries and general inexperience. Plus, Miller played like poop compared to what he is usually capable of.

As the old adage goes, you have to lose before you learn how to win.

Chicago couldn't beat Detroit before they won the Cup. Boston blew a 3-0 series and 3-0 game 7 lead against the Flyers and won the Cup the next year. San Jose could be a team that is learning how to lose in every way possible before they figure it out. But St. Louis was and still is a very, very strong team.

I don't like St-Louis defense apart from Pietro.

Really? They look like the deepest blueline in the league, especially playing that Hitchcock style. If they got the Miller they thought they were getting, they would have won that series.

They have lost to pretty much every team, in every round, in every way imaginable but over the years, they have really changed their style of play. It's really a work in progress. They could be like the Red Wings or the Bruins before they finally made it work.

One thing they haven't tried yet though is getting a great goalie because between Nabokov and Niemi, they've had a lot of average goaltending when they needed much better than that.
