If it was that way no one would sign with The Leafs bad teams since they never make the playoffs...

So good teams would always remain good and bad teams would always remain bad...

Sorry but not a very good idea.

yes they would...there's still a salary cap...would you take 3,000,000 from a cup contender with the possibility of making 976,000 more IF you win the cup, or would you take 4,000,000+ from any other team? That sounds a lot like the current reality...

That and the weakish no look clearing attempts when the pressure on him is minimal. Part of the learning curve I guess.

I think bad teams would have to pay even more than they already are to compensate.

Isn't the prize money $1,000,000 divided by the team? Regardless, advertising opportunities are a much bigger potential income difference.

no...only one team could offer that much money to a player...8 teams could only offer a maximum of 180,000...another 4 a maximum of 427,000...another 2 a maximum of 671,000. Then there's the loser in the SCF that could pay up to 915,000 and the winner pays 976,000. No one knows when signing a contract if they'll win the cup...and remember these would be the amounts for a 5,000,000 a year player... plugs would be making less per win...

With comments from Bruin fans towards Subban (and previously Ward) it's tough to believe the 1st black guy that broke into the league actually played for the Bruins...
