Likely not. But the pressure the other owners and such will put on him, will probably leave him no choice. Also, he 81 - what does he care? - hscesq
I don't know him personally(I know no poop), but I don't think he'll go down peacefully. He could drag this one for a long time in the tribunals. |

what other choice was there? the NBA, of all leagues, cannot afford to be associated with the guy, culturally and financially. he optics are beyond nightmarish. - DoubleDown
no I don't think they had a choice but I just don't think it's right for private conversations to lead to stuff like that.
if you look at the bottom line, the guy employed several blacks and paid them very high salaries.
but yeah optins in this case are pretty poop |

I wonder how Rev Sharpton and Spike Lee will find a way to say this wasn't harsh enough. |

That's what a bunch of people here have been saying. He didn't run the team like a racist. |

The outcome wouldn't have been nearly the same in the NHL. |

TD Garden only seats about 17,500.
In Boston, they couldn't give enough tickets away to fill a 20,000+ venue when the team struggles and loses its band wagoners in droves. - Do_a_Ritual
I'm going out on a limb here and will suggest that they won't have all the grads sitting in the stands. |

i'm not so sure. look, in North America, you cannot have a pro sports team in a major league owned by an openly racist person. you just cannot. for a number of reasons, many of which are financial, and that right there is enough to shut the door. |

No idea what that means. But regardless of how it was run, and regardless of how many minorities he employed, his views cannot be tolerated. |
