Its amazing how one franchise in LA is so storied and one is the worst in NBA history.

Same thing with the Yankees and Mets

- PhillySportsGuy

So by that logic they should definitely open another franchise in Toronto. That's be amazing if the new Toronto franchise went on to be a dominate Stanley Cup winning franchise.

Jets and Giants do the same
- PhillySportsGuy

Also dumb. And both teams are called New York and play in Jersey.

I know it's not fair to pick on people's appearance, but good gravy, the jug handles on Commissioner Silver are just astonishing.

We finally saw some Flyers hockey. Would have been nice if they didn't take their foot of the gas late in the 3rd, but they survived.

Tomorrow night = 3 game 7s. Yikes.

And the west coast one to boot. I'm planning on a 1AM bed time tomorrow.

I'm glad they chilled out in the 3rd. Why expend a lot of energy when the game is over, and there is a game 7 the next night?

Credit to Berube for the changed 1st, 2nd and 4th lines. They were much better combinations.

Good point. The extra curriculars at the end will help carry the emotion over, too.

I know. I live in NJ now but was raised in Philly. When the Giants won the Super Bowl, my mom said "Hey, look, you finally have a team that won the Super Bowl!"

I was so mad.

Flyers are 7-3 in elimination games since 2010.

That is pretty damn impressive

i'm fine with it. they just wanted to get out of there without any injuries. they did. the final 10 minutes were meaningless.

Sucks to hear that Grossmann is done for the playoffs. That's a big loss for the Flyers.

Pretty sure Joe's point was that Giroux was more effective when he was playing second fiddle to Carter/Richards.
- Pixote Andolini

Who was second fiddle again?

2009 playoffs
Giroux 5 points in 6 games, 15:56 TOI/G
Richards 5 points in 6 games, 22:57
Carter 1 point in 6 games, 20:20

2010 playoffs
Richards 23 points in 23 games, 21:45
Giroux 21 points in 23 games, 18:44
Carter 7 points in 12 games, 17:56

2011 playoffs
Giroux 12 points in 11 games, 21:57
Richards 7 points in 11 games, 19:19
Carter 2 points in 6 games, 15:15

Totals
Giroux 38 points in 40 games
Richards 35 points in 40 games
Carter 10 points in 24 games

No reason he should not be in the lineup if there is an injury to the top 6.....He may have his faults but his mobilty is must especially vs a team like Rags.
