Seems like Erhoff is pretty highly valued, seen this before as well, when he was being pitched at the Bruins... I've never rated him as close to as high as these values.

Is he all that represents these praise? Jst asking cause i haven't watched much of him at all

even at the time the deal was made, most people felt it was a pretty massive overpayment.

that deal would have been fair for just moulson and a 2nd, IMO, adding the 1st (even with the protection) was insane...........but typical with the way the isles do business.

i honestly can't remember the last time that team made a trade that they "hands down" won. nothing comes to mind

Ehrhoff to the Bruins doesn't make much sense in my eyes. Ehrhoff to the Red Wings I could see, as well as the Sens.

Getting just a 2nd for Vanek would have been a massive underpayment. Moulson was a UFA as well. He very well could have just walked at the end of the season and all we would have gotten in return was that 2nd round pick if they got what you're saying they should have. I would have hated that trade if that was the case.

David Pastrnak (notice that rn combo...that just screams sabres draft pick)

Alex Nedlejkovic and Nikita Serebryakov (can't wait to see how people here spell that if they're having trouble with Ristolainen)

Can't see Florida passing on him but what a defensive core if you add Ekblad.

Lafontaine for Turg... wait..

Dumont and a 5th for Dmitri Nabokov..wait..

Chara, Bill Muckalt, and a 1st (Spezza) for Alexei Yashin..hold on..

Jokinen and Luongo for a barrel of monkies.. I know I'll find one good trade just HOLD ON

Moulson, 1st and 2nd for Vanek..

Kirk Muller, Mathieu Schneider, and Craig Darby for Pierre Turgeon and Vladimir Malakhov... (frank)ing yikes.. give me one more chance..

Butch Goring for Dave Lewis and Billy Harris. That right there. That's one awesome trade.

That is true. Plus it means Ekblad is likely to remain in the juniors for another year (T.Murray's words). So it gives us the same line up to go get McDavid/Eichel. Still likely we take one of the Sam's.

but you wouldn't have JUST gotten a 2nd....you would have gotten a 2nd and moulson.......which means a 2nd, and whatever assets you get for moving moulson, which was a pretty good return if i remember correctly.

i think you could get that type of player for a package including ehrhoff, but there had better be some damn good, young players/prospects included in that package.

players like stewart, stafford, leino, etc....add little to no value, or in the case of leino, negative value, to any trade they're part of. same can be said with 3rd and 4th rd picks.

if you want to start getting young impact players like skinner, the names that have to be included in a package with ehrhoff, IMO, are names like hodgson, girgensens, foligno, zadorov, etc.

it's a steep price to pay, but guys like skinner, kane, etc.....guys who are in their very early 20's, and are established NHL threats........ don't come on the market very often.

the beauty is that murray is the guy that will make these decisions now. murrays probably gonna keep the first two lines similar to last year, unfortunately we are gonna need to be bad again next year. dont think they are targeting any kind of nhl ready difference makers til next year. seems like girgensons, ristolainen, and zadorov are the young guys that they wont move, myers will cost an absolute ton or they wont move him. murray indicated that he will start reworking the 3rd and 4th lines this summer- bringing in more of his type of players.

damn, that's a good question. i'd be scared to give up TOO much, cuz he still hasn't played a game in the NHL, but at the same time, have a feeling he's gonna be real good.

i honestly don't know. i know who i owuldn't move for him, and that is (zibby, lazar, turris, ryan, karlsson, lehner, ceci)

so i guess it would depend on what buffalo would want.......prospects, picks, or younger guys who can play now.

puempel, prince, wiercioch, stone, hoffman, smith, pageau, etc

Just did a bit of research to see how bad this team really was this year:

Take the top 7 paid forwards that played for the Sabres at any time during the season: Leino, Ott, Vanek, Moulson, Hodgson, Stafford, and Stewart total they played 321 games in a Sabres uniform.

All 7 combined points in a Sabres uniform is 151. That is freaking pathetic. Averages out at less than half a point per game. So in theory thats less than half a point per game from our top 6...that makes me sad very very sad.

If that doesn't scream take a forward in this draft I don't know what does.
