But, but, but Teddy and Timmy already said they definitely weren't going to make the roster.
- buffalofan19

if they are already saying that w/o training camp, fans should cancel their season tickets for 2014-15

that would be a stupid pill for the fans to swallow

You identified them by first name, I like that, It tells me you are a hard worker that won't accept anything but 110% effort from "your team"

I figured the three "buts" would be a good indicator of sarcasm. Obviously, a coach and GM lying to the media is completely unheard of.

You are over playing Reimer and Neuvirths numbers. The two combined will be around the same statistically as Miller and Enroth were this year.

I also addressed keeping whichever Sam that was drafted in juniors one more year, cause I think thats what is going to happen. They will get their 9 game tryout and not having a ton of talent to play with they won't stand out and force the Sabres to keep them here.

Ollie and Staal both played with better goal scorers on the respective team. They might contribute to another player scoring a few more goals but they don't put up the same point total in a Sabres uniform. There just ins't the talent around them.

I never heard the quote, but apparently both have gone on record as saying they don't believe in keeping the players here. Personally, I think it's just to give whoever they draft and incentive to work harder. However, Ted Nolan has said more than once that unless the player has the talent of a Crosby, he doesn't belong here at the age of 18, despite the fact that teenagers of all sorts of calibers on all sorts of teams have come in and not looked out of place, especially near the top of the draft.

thoughts on trading for Ovechkin?

1 massive scoring line with 3 two way lines and a good pp

this would of course probably mean the end of coho as a sabre

Ennis/Staal/Stewart = 25/30/25
Hodgson/Girgs/Stafford = 25/15/25
???/Olli/??? = 10/18/10
??/??/?? = 5/5/5

that's 198 goals.

They got 28 on the backend this year.

Now you're at 226 goals for which puts you in the 10-12 range for the league.

Where would the Avalanche be if Mackinnon was "being a teenager" ?

He's an "elite talent" that Reinhart/Bennett/Ekblad won't be I guess.

I'm not opposed to it, but I doubt Washington ends up trading him, unless he absolutely can't stand the new GM/Coach combo the Capitals bring in.

It will take a solid young roster player(Girgs), 2 solid prospects (Armia/Grigs/Risto/Zads/McCabe), and multiple picks to get him.

You do not put a rookie on your first line . You put on third let him adjust to the speed of the game . Like the Avs did with Mackinnon .
