I'm just going to defend Giroux again -- not the production, or lack thereof. This is just a tricky series for him, because again, the Rags don't have to respect Hartnell's speed, and a right-handed center kinda needs a LW to be a threat for the game to become a little more manageable when you're being watched like a hawk

Giroux is supposed to be the catalyst for Hartnell, not the other way around. And they've played together all season. This isn't the first time Giroux has seen tight checking

I don't want to say too much today. Busy day. However, Steve Mason. That is all. Everyone, enjoy your Saturday.

Flyers just need to find a way to get the hell out of this series.

I like the chances against either Columbus or Pittsburgh but get the (frank) away from NY.

So Hartnell can't create space for Giroux, then? Dig pucks out of the corner or along the wall?

Hartnell's not supposed to do anything, then?

What? Is Giroux supposed to get the puck, carry the puck, avoid all checking, and then, at the last second, hit Hartnell with a back-post pass, because the only thing Hartnell is supposed to do is stand there, because Giroux is the catalyst for him?

Im not saying Montreal is at Boston's level by any means. But when it comes to matchups, I think we are the only team in the East that can take them out. Then we'll lose in the Conference Finals of course

If Gold Medal Price shows up you can take anyone.

He can really steal games back there.

Not even close to what I said. An excuse was made for Giroux, in that the Rangers don't have to respect Hartnell, as a reason for Giroux's poor offensive production. I think that is false. Giroux is the player who is supposed to create, and be the catalyst. Hartnell is a support player. Giroux is the engine that drives the train.
And yes, Hartnell, as well as pretty much all the forwards, need to pick up their game, if they're going to go far in the playoffs. Not just Giroux.

fyi i was joking. But im sure everyone in here bashing him for his lack of production just crapped their pants feeling the series was over. The rangers are taking him away from the series but really it falls on the coach to get him away from the not so favorable match ups. if im the rangers coach Im taking him out of the games and making the other lines beat us. Worked pretty well up to the point of mason coming back and having a steller game.
