So I've found the way to win in this series, for me personally. Both games we've won i had to stay late at work and record the game, and just stayed in my work clothes during it. Looks like I'll be going into work on a Sunday for the first time in over a year tomorrow

My luck is a bit better than yours, they've won every playoff game that I've watched in a bar!

I'm just going to defend Giroux again -- not the production, or lack thereof. This is just a tricky series for him, because again, the Rags don't have to respect Hartnell's speed, and a right-handed center kinda needs a LW to be a threat for the game to become a little more manageable when you're being watched like a hawk
- AllInForFlyers

Great players find a way to contribute somehow no matter how the other team is defending. Giroux has been a non factor this series.

I disagree

The biggest hole created by the loss of Grossmann is on the PK and that is exactly where Gill will help the most. If you put Gus in the lineup for him and either Schenn, AMac, Timonen or Coburn take a penalty, you may be forced to use Streit or Gus on the PK and that is not a real good idea.

Heck, it's not like the loss of Grossmann is taking any mobility away from the D in the first place. Honestly, if it was anyone else that got hurt, I'd say go to Gus, but IMO Gill's job on this roster is basically that of Grossmann injury insurance.

- BiggE

I would just like to see him get a chance. Rangers are a fast team, and the Flyer D have been getting good chances jumping into the offensive zone and Gus could get some good looks and be able to get back into the D zone

I agree. I think it will be Gill. Gill played well to finish the season. I have more confidence in him now than I did before those 2 starts.

We'll see what Berube does. Gus is probably the better overall player, but Gill fits the need more.

Corey Perry has two goals in his last 13 playoff games -- and one of them came last night.

It's a false narrative. It is. I'm sorry, but it is.

He has 2 goals in his last 3 games. He had a stretch of 10 straight games without a goal. Crosby and Malkin have similar streaks.

The Rangers have been quite effective in keeping Giroux quiet offensively. It happens. I'm still hoping he has a breakout game in this series, but if he doesn't, I'll be the first to give the Rangers credit rather than blaming G.

The Giroux defending is Mind boggling. when your best player plays this bad, you generally don't win a round.

And even the goal Perry scored last night came with the Ducks up 5-2 in the third -- it wasn't like it was the game-tying goal or game-winner, or even the insurance goal.

I recognize that some people are never going to accept non-production from the faces of franchises, but the kind of negativity that results...it doesn't help, because the narrative is simply false, that if you're a great player, you'll find a way.

Some times, you get shut down. It happens. And it sucks. But it happens, and will continue to happen, and if it does happen, other guys have to help out, step up.

Toews too... Since 2010 he probably has close to 5 playoff goals.

They're knocking him on his ass every chance they get, and with the exception of the Zuccarello hit last night, he pops right back up and gets back in the play.

What would you have him do differently, exactly?

When you accept getting shut down as possible, doesn't that have a pretty serious negative impact?

You guys are clowning yourselves with statements like this.

You say it happens. Sure. It does. It happens everytime we play the Rangers.

I'm a 31 year old Bridge Inspector who played a few years of high school hockey and men's league. I can't give Giroux advice on how to play better outside of play harder.

He isn't doing what needs to be done. End of story. You want to excuse that? Fine. But don't act like you guys are right in doing so. He's flat out sucked.
