He's a first round pick that hasn't panned out. Not the first, won't be the last. |

He was picked where he was classified by most of the scouting info you can find on the internet. Plus, the draft was in Montreal back then, and if they hadn't chosen him, people would have probably set the building on fire.
I think the kid has been himself poorly managing his development, choosing to go on multiple routes...after being done with MidgetAAA, he went to play one year in the USHL, got to play in the NCAA for a year (Havard), came back here to play with the Montreal Juniors in the QMJHL and then started has a pro with the Hamilton Bulldogs and got called up after.
He wasn't doing bad with his first stint with the team. The year after, he went down with an ankle injury. He came back a while after, but he always seemed to be behind the other players, never being able to catch up.
I thought it was a lost season for him. I have to say, I really thought he would have turned it over this season. It wasn't the case, got cut early at training camp and he seemed like he never recovered from it. Sounds like he doesn't have what it takes mentally to make it, but who knows...he's still young at 22 years old...
Maybe he'll get another chance with a team where he'll just be another guy on the team, without the pressure of being a first round "next french hope" pick |

hardly
I really like Bournival's speed and hustle on that line.
I keep hearing about Moen's experience in the playoffs, and being a tough guy, etc.
He's not that player anymore. Only place he's useful is on the PK. |

well i think the strategy is going to change against Boston. maybe there won't be the tenacious forecheck we saw against Tampa and we'll see Montreal adopt some kind of neutral zone trap, in which case Moen would be better suited. i did like what Bournival brought in the Tampa series but i think MT deserves the benefit of the doubt at this point. |

doesn't look like he'll be in to start. i think Murray will only get if the physical stuff starts getting out of hand. i think that against a team that will come in with a heavy forecheck like Boston, MT will prefer guys who can get to the puck and move it quickly. |

Yeah, I'm not sure I love that move either. They have enough guys to kill penalties, and last time he fought.... |

I saw that and thought that was very weird. Sort of went in all different directions. Also, he's 23! I remember when he was drafted, surprising he's already 23. He's up for a new contract but it can't hurt to keep him around in Hamilton for another year or two.

Unfortunately yes. Probably over a guy like Weaver of Bouillon. Don't think we'll see Tinordi though |

The reason I ask about Murray is that who other than him can contain chara on the pp in front of price
Edit: try to contain |

not a chance Weaver comes out. guy is +14 in 21 games in Montreal. i think the highest plus on the team in the regular season was like +12. |

who ever it is, they just have to pull the good old Lucic move on him, straight to the balls |

not sure. but i don't a coach should tailor his lineup to the other team's PP. and Chara doesn't always stand in front. i saw him score a PP goal from the point Saturday. |

I guess it's a legal move since no penalties or suspensions come from such a move |
