bozak for weber? i mean, he IS better than datsyuk, and is a top line center on most teams. - sensarmy_11
Weber and what? You CANNOT think that is fair for the Leafs straight up! |

i'm pretty sure the average leaf fan, and pretty much everyone else on here, disagrees with the guy saying that bozak would be a #1 on most teams.
bozak is the #1 in toronto because they have no other options. his PPG this season was based on a RIDICULOUSLY unsustainable shooting %, and the fact that he missed a huge chunk of the season. that number almost surely drops significantly if he plays the full season.
any person (be it leafs fan or other) with even a shred of objectivity, realizes that bozak is a #2 or #3 on all but a small handful of teams in this league. - sensarmy_11
Everyone else ? Vast majority ? Lmao. Yeah I can see where you are getting that opinion based on the responses to my posts. Go back to Ottawa thread please. You are trashing my opinions that are stats Based and from watching the games as a fan. Maybe the Leafs should trade Bozak to Detroit so he has a chance at a Cup.

I'd be extremely interested in seeing what Bozak could do with different linemates. IMO, it's the only way to determine his real value as a player (not $).
He's a great piece on this club, and his cap hit is actually pretty darn low. Guy is a short-handed bandit and the best FO man on the club. He plays every situation. They lean on Bozie a lot. For this reason, I wouldn't consider moving him. - TheThrill

no it doesn't, for a variety of reasons.
1) he's only done it once, and he's 28.
2) he didn't do it over a full season
3) he did it while riding a shooting % that is going to come down by a good 10 points moving forward.
Bozak is a nice player, but there is absolutely nothing in his career history that suggests he's a #1 centre. - DoubleDown
I doubt it goes down that much. He's gone 15.7 12.5 16.5 19.7 21.1. Average 16.7 over his career. Maybe only one or three players are better over the last 5 years.

The fact is, he doesn't shoot a lot. He is far more likely to pass to JVR or Kessel (I would be too, btw). The shots he takes are much higher opportunity because he doesn't often take chances. I don't know that his shooting % says anything about how good he is, it just shows the type of player he is. |

He's a smart player, but my point was about how much his sh% is likely to regress.

Thank you !! But please don't try to use stats in this discussion. Most Leafs fans don't think he's a number one centre according to sens and oilers guy |

The Flavium Mencia is better if you ask me. 91 points Robert Parker. But a different style.. Excellent. All from the same region.

Is he saying put Sid with Kess and JVR, how would they do ??
Sid would have 100 assists
Kessel would have 75 goals or more and so would JVR...
I think they would do GREAT |

crosby is the best player on the planet.. Kuli and clarkson would probably become 30 goal scorers again because of crosby.
bozak is riding the coat tails of JVR and Kessel.. you put him between Clarkson and Kuli then his production drops off
bozak is a useful player.. but he is no star.
