Kadri is unwanted by most of the NHL. Leafs are definitely going to trade him if they ever get a good offer. But Kadri's act, bad energy, and lousy genetics(he is one of those bloated/fat/skinny guys, make him pretty untradeable for anything large.

I honestly think Rielly makes better defensive plays and far better offensive plays leading to less turnovers. Praising Gunnar's D is so 2011. He's pretty bad now

The points you make are exactly why they might be able to trade him for a useful player who's sound defensively and works hard.

agree to disagree but i hope you weren't one of the 'franson can replace dion' before the year to which i laughed at...again, he has tools but im not going to change your mind. 30-40 pts, top 5 hits, 6'5 and right shot but i digress.....point is on a good D (minus i guess gardiner for a more reliable Defensive guy) franson looks pretty damn good. He looked great in the playoffs didn't he

It's not an easy take for sure. Gunnar doesn't take as many penalties so I guess it's good that he plays against top competition sometimes. Our whole defense needs to reconfigured. As easy as it is to female dog about franson, Gunnar, ranger, and Gards, the real problem is Phaneuf and his terrible contract.

I think you have to play the cards you have been dealt.

Lupul seems replaceable through the ufa market.

I think a top d-man will have to be acquired through trade.

At this point, I would explore trading the whole team except for Kessel/JVR/Bernier/Rielly. That and a new coach with a modern system/approach and you have the "culture change" Shanny was talking about.
