Since Columbus is a much bigger team here are a few ideas to beat their forecheck.

One is to get out of the zone as quick as possible. Right now we are taking our time, trying to set up plays or protecting the puck down low on the wall. That's not going to work, it needs to come out quicker to fast transition the play to use our speed. To move it out of our zone quickly.

Secondly in the offensive zone we need to get shots off quickly on the rush and frankly whenever possible. Posting up down low on a bigger team is a recipe for disaster. Net front presence needs to be a big body, maybe England? I know people hate Pyatt but he might work there?

Lastly, we are not going to grind them down. We need to use fake moves, stick handling and our skill to out maneuver them because that is our strength. Disco and Martin and Granato should have enough sense to realize this. And we should utilize Bortuzzo and Despres to give us more size to clear the net. If we fail to make adjustments it will cost us dearly and maybe Disco Dan's job?

Just saw that Derrick Pouliot's Portland Winterhawks moved onto the WHL finals last night. Kid has 26 points in 14 games

I was hoping they'd lose so he could play in the AHL playoffs

Pens are coming to play tonight! Awesome...4 games and now they realize "hey, we better try harder".

What do you all think about pairing Crosby with Malkin to see if you can get one or both going? I usually hate playing them together but...

I've seen the metrics that indicate Sid is playing well. Numbers apparently don't lie. But, neither does they eye test. He has to pick it up. I'm convinced he is hurt. Never have I seen him play like this.

If Fleury gives up a softie, how will the fans react?

Agree. You would think that with Letang being a puck-moving d-man, this wouldn't be an issue.

And Elkunds podcast suggest Malkin for OV. Quite possibly the worst Malkin trade scenario Ive ever heard.

Pens can't even go to the slot, it's closed. All shots are mostly from the boards or point. Columbus have been shooting quality shots in the slot.
