Have you ever played competitive ice hockey? Competitive, I mean not bar league. Just curious. - GilPerreault11
I only played from peewee until the end of high school. I decided to not play in college, since I preferred watching, breaking down, and analyzing the game rather than playing it... Some people thought it was a bit odd, but it's just what I enjoyed doing more. |

I've never seen Reinhart's game compared to Toews by any reputable source, I have seen Bennett compared to him and in one article his skills were compared to Dattsyuk's which is a bit extreme. - GilPerreault11
Neither have I, but when you break down each player's styles and ability, I see that Toews and Reinhart share many different strategies/traits/etc. More so than with Bennett. |

You should have got into coaching if you aren't there already. I'm guessing you aren't coaching HS or college since you said analyzing players is an expensive hobby. |

I just haven't had the time for that sort of thing with busy work schedules and a family... I intend to make a serious effort to do so, however, before it's too late. It would be a huge regret to not try to get a career in something that I really enjoy doing. |

For me the difference between Reinhart and Bennett is simply whether or not Bennett will play center at the NHL level or switch over to wing. We have to get a top-2 center in this draft. |

Will Reinhart, Bennett or Ekblad make the team in September? If it's one of the forwards, the temptation to play him is obvious, but perhaps they don't want whoever they draft around when the team is very likely to struggle through another season. Would it be better to send the drafted player back to juniors for the season? I like the idea of having either Reinhart/ Bennett playing one more year in the CHL and then bringing them up with either McDavid or Eichel for 2015/16.
What does everyone think? |

It all depends on what Murray thinks. In my opinion, playing next year on our poopty team won't have too much of a negative effect on neither Bennett nor Reinhart. They don't seem to have fragile confidence like some prospects do. They should be fine. |

And ultimately the NHL is still a business. You need something to get asses in the seats. |

With all the promise we see in the prospects and what will be available at the draft. Seems the fans are getting excited of what could become of our team. That should get more fans in the seats in a couple years. Until then ,the sure way to keep them interested in coming to the games? I suggest....ice girls. |

Not challenging your opinion, but what makes you think that? Is there anything glaring that makes you think that, or is it a gut feeling? - LetsGoBuffalo75

Idk, I thought all cheerleaders were objectified, they go around "cheering" half naked and complaining they were put to a jiggle test.
Its like a stripper complaining they were objectified, Its kinda the point of your job. - Mentalorgasm5
They are entertainers, they go out and perform and I get they have to fit a certain image but at the same time they are entitled to the same workplace rights as any other profession. |

Its very depressing to think that the Bills and Sabres are so terrible. Even with the Drafts coming up I assume that the Bills will get it wrong and the Sabres will refuse to pick a Center. |

Maybe that's not the best example. Shooting from the hip there.
But you get the idea. Drafting Ekblad & then flipping a d-man isn't an unrealistic option. It'll just take a little bit more work.
Maybe Colorado is a fit as a trading partner? Now Try having some fun with that!
Who would they give us for Ehrhoff or Myers? I'd even be willing to sweeten the pot with a 2nd rd pick. - SuperCat
"Drafting Ekblad & then flipping a d-man isn't an unrealistic option."
Just for conversation sake, I''ll address this post with my thoughts. No, it's not unrealistic in the slightest. Will it happen? Unlikely, but never say never. I'll make a few examples using 4 different defenders we have and what I think their value is along with what I think Murray would be shooting for. Remember that his stance on our top defenders is only trading with a stellar deal in place. Let's note these are hypothetical fantasy trades where all I'm shooting for is realistic value.
Ehrhoff & JT Compher & 2015 Buffalo 1st & 2 2nds to Colorado - Matt Duchene to Buffalo
Myers & Isles 2015 1st (likely) to Washington - Evgeny Kuznetsov to Buffalo
Pysyk & 2 2nds (14 Buf & 15 NYI) to Edmonton - David Perron to Buffalo
McCabe & St Louis 2015 1st & Buffalo 2014 2nd to Tampa Bay - Andrey Vasilevskiy to Buffalo |
