I got about $15.75 to throw to the cause, but that could skyrocket to as high as $150 if we can wait until my next paycheck. |

Ok that counts
I am serious though. I know no one will believe it but it is the truth. I wonder if the fans bought it if we can do a better job |

You can really get the sense he can own the team for another couple of years. The question is will he spend or will it be just to the Cap? |

Kasper, one thing that I keep hearing is that the Isles plan to be uncharacteristically aggressive this offseason. This has me rethinking things in reference to Garth now. Many here have gotten on Garth over the last couple of years for not signing free agents. They've constantly said our not signing free agents is his fault. I've typically said that there were too many things working against him to be successful in that category (Wang, stadium, team rep etc). Based on the word that they suddenly plan to be more aggressive, maybe some were right that Garth was only half-hearted with his UFA interests over the last few years. If that's the case, and IF we really do go all in to fill the few gaps that were unsuccessfully addressed last season, then perhaps we'll actually overpay this year.
In the case of Orpik, after the Pens series he was VERY outgoing in his compliments towards the Isles franchise, their players and fans. On two different interviews he spoke at length saying they were a team that was going to be a major player for years to come. I didn't take it as lip service simply because it wasn't a typical one-liner compliment. So if he really feels that way and knows what JT brings, he may be willing to accept a rich contract to come here. Afterall, he's already won a cup.
One more thing...he's American...went to Boston College....
Let's be honest. This team is NOT in rebuild mode any longer. We have a decent young core but need to surround it with dependable veterns. Give us a top shelf goalie and dependable top four dman and I think this team is as good as any in our division except Pittsburgh - keaner17
The biggest thing working against Garth besides everything u mentioned is nobody believing in what hes doing besides letsgoisles and u to a lesser extent |

I think for what subban is going to want for a contract and what it would take to get him, and considering the issues he's had with his coaches and erratic dzone play... Not really interested. |

In all honesty, Terensako who was drafted in the teens by STL has been the best player in that draft so far, hands down...
So it really doesn't matter where you are drafted to be honest.
Like I said prior, Im not discounting Stromes talents. - Ur Not Me
Tarasenko was '10
Strome/RNH were '11
'10 best so far is Seguin

How could they do worse? - Cptmjl
that is the point if a bunch of fans can pretty much do the same it looks even worse to those who are supposed to have knowledge in these things |

Well, I believe in the prospects he's assembled...not much beyond that though. I understand that's enough around here to suddenly mean I'm spokesperson for his rebuild
I do think that that things can turn around very quickly. A starting goalie, top four dman and coach who has a clue can make this a damn good team fast. Two out of three there can go a long ways as well. |

Like the Green Bay Packers..owned by the citizens.....Hmmm...maybe not such a good idea...any player that hasn't shown flashes of Gretzky or Roy in their first season would be traded away - keaner17
I would say besides Tavares everyone else would be gone. Actually I would keep KO as well, but anyone else I would be listening for offers |

The 'wear socks or be fired' dress code strikes me as a bit tough. Besides, we're not changing our name to the Long Island Penguins. |

I read an article that a lot of hockey players do that. I dont know seem so unprofessional to me, but I would make it mandatory.
Long Island Penguins?? No way the Islanders are perfect with me |
